First of all, we jointly look for the student's biggest stumbling blocks. These can be related to the subject matter as well as to the study method. From there, I work at the student's pace and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible. I also give them tips and tricks, and improve their working methods where necessary. During the lessons I often care about the subject matter that is more interesting to make and we solve exercises together. In this way I try to optimally prepare the student for his/her test of the exam. However, learning should also be enjoyable. Ik geef zowel bijles voor leerlingen secundair, als taallessen aan volwassenen die een examen bij Selor willen afleggen. De lessen kunnen bij mij thuis of via internet doorgaan.

The ukulele lessons are suitable for beginners. It is taught in a casual and relaxed manner, with a lot of personal attention and a good lesson structure. You will soon be able to accompany a song. You learn to play and sing chords, different beats, strumming patterns, simple melodies and some basic knowledge of music theory. We do not work with musical notation, but with tablature. That is a simple alternative. There is also a lot of room to learn what you like yourself. Be sure to bring the songs you want to learn to play. Start with an introductory lesson to see if you like it and to discuss what you want to learn. You can borrow a ukulele if you don't already have one.

With 20 years of experience as a guitar teacher and as a professional musician, I like to pass on my passion for the guitar to others. I teach at all levels; from beginners to advanced, and specialize in jazz, flamenco, classical, bossa nova, rock, funk and metal. On the basis of the level of the student I make a program that suits them, including learning songs with chords, playing riffs, rhythm theory, speed, improvisation, specific techniques, transcription of solos. I'm passionate about music and have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I've been giving lessons since 2015 and have already met many very different profiles. My course is for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors). And it's never too late to start, unlike what you often hear! I can adapt to many styles, and my musical tastes are quite diverse (rock, pop, folk, variety, reggae, hip hop, classical, etc.). Here's an example of topics that can be covered while learning songs: - Positioning for comfortable practice with minimum fatigue. - Chords: discover the basic chords to play your first notes. - Rhythm: work on rhythm with simple, repeatable exercises. - Musical styles: explore different musical genres with songs suitable for beginners. My approach is all about practice, not theory. The aim is to have fun while learning new techniques as the songs increase in difficulty. And as not everyone starts out with the same level or the same objectives, I naturally adapt the course to suit each person's desires and progress. After having finished the International Baccalaureate at a United World College, I continued getting my BA in World Politics (cum laude) and am currently getting my master's degree at Sciences Po Paris in European Affairs. For my HL classes, I received a 7 in Global Politics, a 6 in History, and a 7 in English Lang&Lit. I started tutoring in my own neighborhood from the age of 14, but have since gained 5 years of professional tutoring experience, including by working as a college-level student assistant. My approach to learning is influenced by my own diverse background. I have studied in the Netherlands, Armenia, Norway, and Egypt; all these places have shown me what works and what doesn't. When it comes to the IB, I strongly understand how essays should be structured and what exam strategies work best to achieve the highest results.
