Currently via webcam I studied at the conservatories of Antwerp and Ghent and obtained my master's degree as a performing musician and my diploma in specific teacher training. In addition to experience as a performing musician, I am also active as a teacher of solfège and cello. I have experience as a teacher with children and adults. You can come to me to learn your first basic chords and guitar techniques. We do this not based on solfège, but on the basis of your favorite songs that I adapt to your level. I believe that learning an instrument from the first second can be a lot of fun and therefore does not have to mean a struggle :) I look for creative ways to let you play a song in a recognizable way and leave as much room as possible to create your own style. Learning to practice an instrument well is very important. I really value this very much in my lessons. From the moment one can practice well, it progresses much faster, so that you also prefer to play. I started quite late, so I had to catch up a lot in a short time. In the beginning it progressed quickly, but as the pieces got more difficult I needed new practice techniques. I practiced so badly and that is very demotivating over time. I eventually learned to practice well by asking a lot of different people for help and now I'm making faster and faster progress. I would really like to share this info, so I think I have something to offer for young and old, even if I haven't been doing it that long.

My name is Irene, I started my career as a cellist in the south of Spain, between Andalusia and Murcia, where I did my bachelor's degree in cello performance. Later I moved to Belgium to continue my studies, where I studied the Master in Classical Music (cello performance) at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. I have been teaching cello for 8 years both in Spanish and English to all ages and levels, combining my teaching activity with the interpretative improvement of my instrument. I have collaborated with numerous national orchestras and I have received master classes from great cellists at an international level. In Belgium, I currently collaborate with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders and the Chamber Orchestra of Flanders, among others.
