I am an experienced percussionist, specialized in various types of instruments as congas, bongos, cajon, berimbau, djembe, etc. I am also involved in various musical projects like duos, trios, cvintets, big bands. My interest broadened to include live sound effects, body percussion, music arrangeur.

This class is for AQA English literature, specifically Power and Conflict Poetry that appear in GCSE English lit paper 1. Using my passion for literature, and guided by notes and essays i still have from my own GCSEs, for which i obtained a grade 9, this lesson is designed to guide the student into understanding the material presented, being able to compare between any two poems confidently, as well as being able to write a well structured and comprehensive essay that will obtain them a higher grade. Note: I will also have classes specifically for other elements of the course targeted for different sections and papers, such as An Inspector Calls and AQA English Language. If the student needs tutoring in any combination or all of these subject areas, you can still feel free to book lessons in a package and just specify what areas you want me to focus on. I am also hoping to be able to teach Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas carol, but need to go through and remake notes and refresh my understandig of these works, so teaching of these may be delayed. My French / FLE course: I first seek to identify the needs of the student but also the requirements of his Professor if necessary, or requests related to a particular professional situation. It is from this inventory that I build my course. My teaching method aims for a clear understanding of the rules, (transmissive model) and instructions, and their constant recall. My explanations are always clear and structured and are ideally made with the words of the students, rather than with technical terms. Clear explanations, certain guidelines for orienting oneself in case of difficulties, taking a few notes, repetition - in a fun way if possible -, constant practice of exercises, recurring questions that I ask to check that the material is acquired, will ensure lasting success without cutting corners. Thus grammar, for example, becomes much less arid mental gymnastics than it seems. On the contrary!

Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.
