Throughout the years I have developed piano skills with which I can play all sorts of compositions by ear as well as improvise variations based on the main structure of a piece. In this course I will show you the practical and theoretical basics to improvise as well as learn pieces on the piano without note sheets. It will not be a "classical music lesson" although I will reference classical music and talk about music theory, music history and the physics of sound a lot. It won't have a "syllabus" either on the basis that every person needs different sets of skills to improve upon. It will be more of a discussion/dialogue accompanying the piano where we will expand on our ideas about music. Hello there! My name is Sara and I'm a classical pianist and piano teacher. I have been a pianist for about 15 years and started teaching it a while ago as well. I offer lessons in 3 different languages ( English, Arabic and German) for both beginner and intermediate levels. I believe music should be enjoyed and comfortably played, allowing people to both connect with it and understand while challenging them to express themselves in new and different ways. Music lessons are fun and will be set to make the student confident and comfortable in their playing. If any student needs extra time or space to feel secure and safe, I will offer as much understanding and security as I can. Trust is my number one motto, if for any reason a student feels pressured or uncomfortable they can come and talk to me directly and we shall figure out a way to make music learning fun and enjoyable for them.
