Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the saxophone but have no idea where to start? Do you want to learn how to compose music or give a shape to those songs you always had in mind? You are in the right place then!!! Hi! My name is Carlo. I am an Italian classical and jazz saxophonist and composer. I am also a qualified music teacher for Italian middle school, with a solid preparation in the psycho-pedagogical field. As a teacher, I believe that any student has different ways to learn and approach music. Therefore, I will create for you a personalized but also funny and engaging learning path that would fit perfectly with your inclinations and musical tastes! My method consist in alternating the study of the instruments with some music theory. In this way, you will comprehend what you are playing, using the so-called method "learning by doing", for a gradual and steady learning. My approach includes also the use of little percussions, body movements and singing, in accord with the tradition of Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze methods. I will also start teaching you from any songs you already know - it will surprise you seeing how many things you already know about music! You will see how funny is it to learn music in this way! For any level and any age! WHAT YOU WILL LEARN - How to play the saxophone, with focus on posture, embouchure, air steam, sound, technique, top tones etc; - Or how to compose, from songwriting to orchestra's writing, including counterpoint, orchestration and analysis; - How to improvise, without becoming a "music stand addict"; - Music theory lessons step by step with the instrument development; - Playing with others: you will play with your teacher (me!) in a saxophones duet or in a piano and saxophone duet. If you have a fellow musician, bring it for a group lesson! I will make some music arrangements to play all together. WHAT YOU WILL GET - If you don't have a saxophone (yet); a saxophone for the first lesson with possibility of rent; - Digital didactic material; - Professional and serious teacher; - Possibility of group lesson; - Friendly environment; - A cup of tea to better start the lesson :) For any other informations, video, recording etc visit: www.carlorossimusic.com

Trusted teacher: Hello fellow musician! Have you ever dreamed of becoming a saxophone player? Wheter you are trying to become a jazz improviser, or you have just started familiarizing with the instrument, I can teach you how to: - be able to produce a beutiful sound; - use music theory as a practical way to play correctly over changes; - maximize the outcome of your practice-time; - master the technique on your horn. As a student, I often found myself struggling with resolving a particular set of problems. I was constantly confronted with higher-levelled players, wondering whether I would ever become able to express myself as they did through their music. Having been studying jazz for many years, I experimented with a lot of different learning methods, only to find out that music improvisation is something that is mainly acquired in very personal, differentiated ways. One of the most interesting things I experienced as an educator, when encountering students who shared my own past insecurities, doubts, questions, and struggles, was getting to understand a part of the person in front of me; and to find new ways to help grasp and internalize a theoretical or technical concept that could then enable them to formulate a more coherent musical idea. Even if every student is a unique individual, thus responding to different educational methods, I think that, over time, I was able to identify a red line around which I could create a method that can be beneficial to the majority of aspirational players. For the past few years, I have been giving private instrument lessons to jazz players with varied backgrounds and experience. My educative career consists of a traditional classical, MA in classical saxophone (Conservatorio G. B. Martini, Bologna), a BA in jazz saxophone (ibid.), and a BA in jazz saxophone called New York Jazz Bachelor at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen, where I am now attending a Jazz Master program.

Raúl - Brussels$50
Trusted teacher: Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself! The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults. We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ” In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Estela
Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it. We can see how much she care about the whole learning experience. It’s been very useful to expend his time while at home doing the lessons. He has been practicing more and has been feeling more motivated since he started the lessons with her. We definitely recommend her as a Saxophone teacher!

Rob
Rob is fantastic - warm, engaging, and patient. My 10-year-old son has been taking a weekly class with Rob for the entire school year. Rob is very responsive and communicative, so scheduling and other logistics have been smooth. He incorporates my son's interests into the lessons while building foundational skills. Rob has helped my son grow as a musician and, perhaps most importantly, maintain an enthusiasm for the process.
