Trusted teacher: Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself! The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults. We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his MASTER DIDACTIC in 2018 in the Ecole Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Before, he also followed a MASTER of INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of mixing all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic finality. We could observe this type of research in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's hierarchy of human needs theory where he mixes live, recorded, music and music. dance, play of light and effects under the name of: “according to Maslow…” In his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra performances, etc.) and in different countries such as Japan (Artisanal music fair “Suono Italia” 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016 ), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016…), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (“Quincena Musical” music festival 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Kutxa Festival 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

ABOUT ME: Hello, my name is Genevieve and I am from New Zealand. I am a lawyer and professional freelance saxophonist. I have been playing the saxophone for ten years in New Zealand and recently moved to Brussels in 2022 for an experience of living in Europe and pursuing my interest in saxophone performance. My motivation in teaching is to help a student learn the fundamental technique of saxophone performance so they can develop their ow creativity, voice and passion on the saxophone. My hope is to start a student on a life long journey exploring music as art in all its different manifestations, whether performance, composition, etc. I have specialised in classical/contemporary saxophone, however I am still a student myself pursing learning jazz. I am open to all types of musical styles and will adapt my teaching and lessons to what you as a student are interested in. I have a passion for improvising and unleashing a students own creativity. I am happy to teach beginners without any musical theory or saxophone experience. I teach Alto saxophone, Tenor saxophone and Soprano saxophone. Unfortunately I only can teach in English (I am just a new student in learning French!) EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Saxophone Performance (classical/contemporary) from Otago University (NZ) Postgraduate Diploma of Saxophone Performance (classical/contemporary) from Victoria University (NZ) DipABRSM in saxophone performance (Diploma Royal Schools of Music) LRSM in saxophone performance (Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music)) I also have a Bachelor of Law from Otago University (NZ) EXPERIENCE: I have five years experience of teaching children and adults saxophone technique from beginner, intermediate and to advanced level students. I have performed in numerous chamber music ensembles in New Zealand such as 'Saxcess' the NZ Saxophone Quartet, 'Duo Eolienne' (harp & sax duo), 'SMP Ensemble' (new New Zealand music), 'Trade Winds' (flute and saxophone duo) and 'Duett Isetta' (piano & saxophone). I have performed two saxophone concertos with orchestras, Glazunov's Op 109 with the Nelson Symphony Orchestra and Milhaud's Scaramouche with the Dunedin Wind Orchestra. I have performed in Masterclasses in New Zealand and Australia for Nikita Zimin, Niels Bijl, Joseph Lallo, Michael Duke and Jay Barnes. Trusted teacher: “Don't play the saxophone. Let it play you.” - Charlie Parker - Everyone of us has is own musicality, we have just to let her come out. The goal of my lesson is to let you discover how much fun and passion music can gives. Music has no age: you're never too young or too old to tell yourself through a musical instrument. If you love and recognize yourself in the warm sound of the saxophone then what are you waiting for!? Let's start this wonderful Music journey Together :) “Whatever you think can't be done, somebody will come along and do it.” – Thelonious Monk SAXOPHONE LESSON: To learn how to transfer your musical ideas into the saxophone is required a total connection between your body and your mind with the horn. That's why for the first part of every lesson will be focused on the Sound and the saxophone technique. You need to learn how to build your own saxophone tone and how to sing into the instrument. This process can take some weeks for really beginners but it'll show you how the musical practice can positive effect your all body and emotions, as well as your creativity. In order to make your music journey more fun and personal my lessons will be based on your music interests and purpose (learn how to read music, improvisation ecc…) During this journey together we'll build your own repertoire of songs that most represent you, which we'll dedicate the second part of the lesson. FOR NERDY ;) For those who wants to go deeper into the world of saxophone I'll organize some special 'listening section' focus on the the role of Saxophone in the music history and in the different kind of music. From the classical repertoire (Gershwin, Bizet, Milhaud, Rota, Bernstein, Steve Reich, Michael Nyman…) passing through the more popular: Blues, Jazz (Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Sonny Rollins…), latin , rock&roll, Pop until nowadays. We'll listen to the milestones of the great composers and performers that have made the history of this fantastic instrument. I'm sure It'll be a journey of discovery the beauty of the music to which this instrument has made, and a big inspiration for you to grow the passion toward this amazing form of art.

Saxophone, Viola, and Violin lessons from Beginners to Advanced levels. (The Hague)
Estela
Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it. We can see how much she care about the whole learning experience. It’s been very useful to expend his time while at home doing the lessons. He has been practicing more and has been feeling more motivated since he started the lessons with her. We definitely recommend her as a Saxophone teacher!
