Graduated with highest marks cum laude for the Bachelor degree in flute at the Conservatory of Florence (Italy) and with the same points at the Conservatory of Milano for the piccolo Master, I am now attending a Master degree in flute performance at the Zurich University of the Arts. Music and especially flute and piccolo are my real passion. My lessons will be always different, based on the student. My main goal is to make music affordable to everyone, that's why I love to have students of any age. I'd love to have the opportunity to spread my passion: music should be first of all fun and a real joy!

My name is Malu and I am a classic and contemporary saxophonist from Spain. I started playing saxophone at age 8, and since then this instrument has taken me to many wonderful places in my life! I studied my Bachelor in Zaragoza with professor Mariano García and now I am studying my Master’s degree in the ZHdK in Zürich in the class of Lars Mlekusch. In the field of teaching I have 3 years of experience in Spain: I used to teach saxophone and theory in a Music School and I also used to give private lessons. I consider myself very open when it comes to teach: I like to personalize my teaching depending on the student’s level, goals and tastes, although I always remain confidently when it comes to the playing technique. It will make you love your instrument (trust me!). I’ve worked with both children and adults of different levels and also different styles. Last but not least: my main goal is for the students to develop their creativity! I love when a student is curious and lively and challenges me to know better how music and my instrument works. Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience. I will tailor-make the class to suit you.
