Drummer/percussionist for 20 years, graduate of the Brussels and Mons Conservatories, I teach drums, percussion and music theory. My course is based first on you. Whether on drums, marimba or percussion, I am attentive to your expectations and develop with you a program adapted to your facilities, your difficulties as well as your objectives. It is aimed at everyone, children and adults, complete beginners and more experienced musicians looking for advice, a method or outside advice. I attach crucial importance to autonomy, creativity, curiosity and listening, the latter being the pillar of my method. We progress gradually, paying attention to technique as well as position, musicality and ear. I teach: - drums in many styles (rock, funk, jazz, shuffle, pop, linear, world music, songs on demand) and in its many forms (Moeller technique, speed, application of paradiddles, syncopation, breaks, solos, musicality, double pedal, etc.) - percussion (marimba and 4-stick vibraphone, xylophone, timpani, cajón, small percussion), in contemporary but also more classical styles (classical music, baroque, etc.) - music theory, which can be integrated into the course if necessary, but also be the subject of a private lesson for students who wish support for their courses in an academy or at the Conservatory -techniques for reading scores, as well as sight reading - absolute pitch and relative pitch (experimental)

Apart from teaching the most amazing latin rhythms, In my lessons I apply the stick control book, to achieve a good technique, and at the same time I teach coordination and grooves, with the best methods and books from the most qualified drummers. I'm a professional drummer from Spain, but living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I have studied Latin drums at Codarts, university of the arts, in Rotterdam, so I've acquired a lot of knowledge and skills on Cuban and Brazilian music, jazz, funk and Pop. I've performed in places such as: North Sea Jazz Festival, Het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Tivoli (Utrecht), Jazzcafe Dizzy, etc...

I offer drumming lessons catered to your needs and pace. I have played in many different settings in South Africa and Hong Kong and have worked with many different musicians. Having the ability to adapt to different people and ways of doing things would have been a challenge without technical, theory and listening skills. These are all part of the learning process and so they are worked into the lessons accordingly. Together we can determine goals and get you playing comfortably and confidently. We will cover everything from basics to being able to work out parts to your favourite songs. I am extremely patient and ready to help you excel. The most important thing is that you have fun doing it. Yes, there will be some challenges, but rest assured that nobody you see performing got there instantly. It all takes time, dedication and passion.

I have been playing drums for 12 years and have participated in many concerts, through several music groups. This experience allows me today to develop my own teaching method aimed at developing your practice of the drums through the pleasure of the instrument and improvisation. It is possible for me to receive you at home, in my musical studio equipped with an acoustic drum kit, an upright piano, guitars, percussion... or to come to your place, if you have a drum kit.

We will talk about your goals and together we will figure out what you exactly need to level up . I will design a practise schedule for you with suitable exercises that you personally enjoy and find it fun, cos hey, music is supposed to be a stress buster, but that being said you gotta work to get better at anything. We will also talk about how it is to be a professional musician in the current music scene, and what skills apart from drumming is needed to be a musician. Mauro, born in 1997 in Italy, approached the study of the drums at the age of 7 years attending the courses of Antonello Scarinci, then continuing with the master's Paolo Fidelibus and Fabrizio Fabiano in the "Accademia Ars Antiqua". In 2016 he undertook a course of studies with Maestro Tony Arco at “Civici Corsi di Jazz (Claudio Abbado)” in Milan, the renowned school founded by Franco Cerri, Enrico intra and Maurizio Franco. He attended the courses of Masters such as Lucio Terzano, Marco Vaggi, Mario Rusca, Mino Fabiano, Tony Arco. He also privately attends the Music course of Latin Jazz ensemble with the Peruvian bassist Rodolfo Guerra and participates in a number of masterclasses including Dave Liebman, Bob Moses, Roberto Tarenzi, Balla Nar Ndiaye Rose, Gerald Cannon, Dave Weckl, Dean Brown. The concert activity over the years has led him to perform in a variety of jazz exhibitions on and off the Milan scene, including Break-In Jazz, Open Sky Museum, Outsound Jazz Festival. Now is attending the Master's Degree at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam under the guide of Lucas Van Merwijk and Martijn Vink.

Intent of course is the development of piano proficiency skills. Focus given to basic keyboard technique, score reading and performance, sight-reading, harmonization, accompanying, and transposition. We shall be learning about different musical instruments that you may wish to study. Gain experience practicing a new instrument (the soprano recorder). Learn basic music literacy skills. This class is intended for students ages 6–8 who are interested in studying a musical instrument, but who wish to learn more before making the commitment to private instrument lessons.
