I teach in English or in Greek. I am half Greek and half Scottish and I have been living in the Netherlands for the last 4 years.
I offer lessons in all styles, to all age groups, and for any experience level (ranging from students who have never touched a guitar before, up to advanced players who are looking for new challenges).
Face to face lessons are preferable, but I also teach online.
I am a patient and open minded teacher, and my desire is to help you learn what you want to learn, and make sure you have fun with playing the guitar and nurture your curiosity and excitement about the world of music creation !
My Credentials:
I hold a Bachelors of Music degree from Birmingham Conservatoire (UK), and a Masters of Music from The Hague Royal Conservatory. My experience as a guitarist ranges from classical guitar studies, to playing electric guitar in rock bands, as well as experience as an improviser, performer of notated contemporary classical compositions, creator and performer of ambient and electronic music. I also am very experienced in ambient and electronic-influenced guitar music, which has given me an in depth knowledge also of the guitar in combination with technology such as guitar effects, computer software and multichannel setups which expand the audio palette of the guitar. I have written songs, I have written orchestra pieces, I have worked as a DIY home producer, I have released albums, and I've performed in concert halls, rock venues, squats and festivals. I even some experience in beat-making.
My music has been performed in and has taken me to several countries, including Portugal, The Czech Republic, The U.S.A., Canada, Korea, Greece, The U.K., The Netherlands.
My Teaching style:
My emphasis is to teach you based on your interests and your needs. The lessons are based around each individual student. You bring me the music you like and the things you want to learn, and I build my lessons around that.
I've taught students everything from post-rock, to metal, to K-Pop to Nepalese songs... This way the student gets to explore music on their terms, and not based on a pre-decided set of songs or exercises. Alongside this I bring exercises and other songs that help build around the skills we learn through your songs, and help you develop the techniques needed for you to learn to play the music you love. Whatever music excites you I encourage you to bring it to our lesson, as this also gives me a chance to discover some new music !
What's more, depending on your interest, we can also explore music theory, ideas on composition and songwriting, even the basics of how to record your own songs at home.
For experienced players:
If you are an experienced player looking for new challenges and new perspectives, my wide ranging knowledge of music in a large spectrum of music will help you push your playing and knowledge of music into new worlds !
Topics of our more advanced lessons could include: in depth exploration of the possibilities of guitar pedals, using Ableton live with the electric guitar, reading scores, writing scores, exploring extended guitar techniques, using multi-amp setups, recording your own songs, playing contemporary classical works that include the electric guitar, exploring finger picking, using alternative guitar tunings, going deeper into music theory, exploring genres you haven't heard of (ranging from classical, to experimental, to free jazz, to electronic music)

Fun and instructive CELLO LESSONS for all levels in Bezuidenhout (DEN HAAG) and ONLINEI am a music teacher with a keen interest on helping my students to develop their musical identities and technical abilities.
Learning an instrument can be a fun and rewarding activity at any age, no matter if you want to become a professional musician, or just want to enjoy an artistic leisure activity. Learning music improves coordination, social and emotional skills, and makes us smarter. And music is something everyone needs in their lives, no matter the age, background or profession!
I have more than fifteen years of teaching experience. Throughout this time I have met students of very different backgrounds, ages and approaches to the instrument, who have inspired me a lot. For me, teaching is also a part of my lifelong learning of the instrument, which enlightens me every time. Also, being an active performer who is used to face a wide variety of styles makes me a more versatile teacher.
According to my own experience and philosophy, the best teacher is the one who teaches you how to become your own teacher. I do my best to follow this approach in my lessons, enhancing the student’s autonomy and own identity.
I use a bunch of different methods and resources, which helps me to match the needs, musical taste and level of each student. I like to play a lot with my students from the very beginning, so I can help them to improve their intonation and rhythm in the most efficient way, and we have more fun playing together! A special focus is put on keeping a natural and relaxed body posture while playing, in order to produce an open sound and be able to play with comfort. Also, as you might have noticed by browsing through this website, I am especially fond of baroque music, so if you are too, I will be happy to focus on this repertoire, or even introducing you to the baroque cello. But other styles are most welcome as well!
What is included in my lessons:
-Personal method adapted to the individual needs of each student

Piano Lessons with two Grand Pianos. Preparations for ABRSM and Competition. There are two grand pianos at the location. There will be enough distance between the student and the teacher.
For children it is important to develop basic musical skill through Singing, Rythmique and Ear training besides the piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, a main text book and a theory book. Through these 3 books students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grade.
After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercise too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain deeper understanding of classical pieces too.
Private Piano lesson, from age 4 above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the number from 1 to 5 and alphabet from A to G.
Advanced students who wants to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams or the entrance exam of conservatory.

I adapt to the needs and the wishes of the pupil, creating a personal and flexible plan, depending on your time and level. Even though I am specialized in classical music, I can teach different styles from classical to jazz, to film music, pop, …
ABOUT ME:
I studied my Bachelor in Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, with professor Amparo Lacruz. Then, I decided to continue my studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the class of Michel Strauss and Jan-Ype Nota.
During my studies in The Hague, I did a teaching internship at the Royal Conservatory as a part of their Minor in Music Education. I also taught in several Music Schools during my studies in Spain.
Currently, I teach private students in The Hague.
I play regularly in two chamber music ensembles: Trio Jakob and Azalaïs Quartet.
APPROACH:
It is very important to share music with other people in order to develop as a musician. That is why I love teaching. I learn from my students as much as they learn from me.
In order to learn the technique in an organized way, I use cello methods, choosing the method that adapts better to the needs of the student. I combine it with nice songs in different styles, depending on the taste of the student, from classical to jazz, film music, pop, etc.
Playing together is an essential part of enjoying music. Therefore, the last part of the lesson always consists of playing cello duets and having fun!
