About Me

Hello!
My name is Nina and I live in Switzerland, around the EPFL. I am 20 years old and I am currently in my second year of bachelor studies at the EPFL, majoring in mechatronics. My father is German and my mother is Chinese, but I have done most of my education in Switzerland. Because of these factors, I speak German, Chinese, English and French.
At the gymnase, my specific option was "Maths and Physics", my complementary option was Chemistry and my level of maths was advanced.
I worked as a tutor during the entire three years of high school, which gave me the opportunity to acquire a lot of experience with teaching and helping students for school work and exams. I learned how to adapt myself to a student's different learning methods and difficulties.

Education

I have completed and received my "Maturité Fédérale"
I have passed my first year bachelor at the EPFL in mechatronics.
I have the conservatory level "Secondaire Supérieure 3" in classical piano.

Experience / Qualifications

I worked as a tutor during the entire three years of high school, which gave me the opportunity to acquire a lot of experience with teaching and helping students for school work and exams. I learned how to adapt myself to a student's different learning methods and difficulties.

Physics, Math and Science from a PhD Student at EPFL
Hi Everyone, I'm working as a researcher in nuclear fusion at EPFL, after a PhD at EPFL, a masters at ETH in Zurich and a bachelors in Freiburg, I got quite proficient in maths and physics. I have quite some experience in teaching, and gave lessons to all ages from highschool to university level.

Mathematics courses (mainly) and support
Hello! I offer math lessons for various levels. Mainly for gymnasium / college students (but also for first semester Bachelor students (for example) or medical students, etc ...). I would also be happy to prepare a course on certain subjects if the student is interested and wants to tackle new subjects or branch of mathematics as far as possible (for mathematical culture or simply out of interest)! I prioritize reasoning in teaching, I think that doing without understanding is not very productive I can also provide support in physics. I hope to meet many students in need, and look forward to it! :) “It is with logic that we prove and with intuition that we find.” - Henri Poincaré. As for me, I graduated and am a math student. I am in Lausanne, but can travel to Geneva on weekends.

Private lessons in Mathematics-Chemistry-Biology
EPFL master student, I would be happy to help you (you or your child) for subjects where you have difficulties! At the university, I have been an assistant in Chemistry for the first years of EPFL for several years as well as for a course linking mathematics and electronics, called Signals and Systems. So I am used to teaching and explaining concepts to students with difficulties. I also give private lessons to students passing the Swiss Maturity or the French Baccalaureate. To try to see together the difficulties as well as the misunderstandings: we resume the course together, we do an exercise together and then I let the student do it independently and we review together if he is blocked or if it is necessary to correct. I would be delighted to be able to help you in all matters, both scientific and literary! :)

Help chemistry, physics, mathematics all fields all levels up to Bachelor 3 included
Student at the Ecole Centrale Paris, I am currently in double-degree at the EPFL in Master of Life Sciences Engineering. I offer private lessons at all levels (from college to bachelor 3rd year) in mathematics and physics and chemistry. I did three years of preparatory classes in physics-chemistry, then I joined the engineering school Centrale Paris, and followed in parallel training in biomedical at the University Paris-Sud. I am now in Master at EPFL, and I have been teaching for more than four years now, for all levels. I know how to adapt to my students and their needs, to ensure their understanding, progression and success. Dynamic and involved, I am rigorous and serious. I like teaching and helping.

Private lessons in math or physics by a first year student at EPFL
I am in the first year of physics at EPFL. I am available almost every day until late at night and even on Sundays. I speak English and French. I have already given math lessons online which allows me to have experience with private lessons.

Aline
reinforcement in order to obtain a solid foundation in mathematics
I teach in any field in mathematics: algebra, analysis, geometry, trigonometry. This is to help the student have a solid foundation in mathematics. I am open to helping with homework and learning mathematical logic.

Eva
support course in maths, physics and chemistry in Lausanne
As a second year master's student in chemical and biotechnological engineering at EPFL, I aim to convey my interest in science. My goal is to support the student so that he understands his course and is able to do exercises confidently and independently. First, a quick 'inventory' allows learning to be targeted. First, the theory is ironed out. The exercises are then approached in a methodical way. Finally, I am a fanatic of the cards to synthesize the important notions! I am also familiar with the English speaking system (IGCSE) I remain at your disposal for any questions

Julien Cyrus
Private lessons of Maths for students at EPFL and for gymnasians
Hello, My name is Julien Cyrus. I am a master's student in Financial Engineering at EPFL. I did my first two years of studies at EPFL in the Communication Systems section and then I did my third year at ETH Zürich in the IT department. I offer my help in maths and physics to first / second year students at EPFL as well as to high school students, college students etc ... I specialized a lot in mathematics during my bachelor's degree, I took 5 analysis courses, courses in stochastic mathematics, algebra and probability and statistics. I will also be an assistant in an Analysis I course during the fall semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at EPFL. I am an educator who likes to pass on his knowledge and help others progress. I adopt a personalized follow-up and it is possible for the pupil / student to submit his questions to me a little before the course so that I can better prepare the course. I am able to teach in French (mother tongue) and in English (level C1). I teach courses in the following subjects: - Analysis - Algebra - Probability and statistics - Physics My averages are as follows: - 4.61 / 6 in first year at EPFL - 4.65 / 6 in second year at EPFL - 4.60 / 6 in third year at ETH Zürich Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! See you soon !

Analysis course for math or engineering students. (University)
I am doing a thesis at EPFL in analysis. I offer mathematics classes at home or at home, the target audience is mainly first and second year students at the university in maths or engineering. Topical Note: I have a very good camera and a large board at home, so I'm ok with zooming or skype, for example. Experience: -Many private lessons of all ages and for a long time. -Assistanat analysis I and II for the engineering section and the maths section (so I did some exercise sheets, course reminders or some points, and the work of "tutor" at the epfl, ie the help during exercise sessions). (Several years in a row). - Assistantship in more advanced courses, for example "Sobolev spaces and elliptic PDE" (Master course), functional analysis II (master course), Dynamics and bifurcation (3rd year of License) My CV: -Classe at the Mathematics Olympiad at 15 -Prepa (French system) to Louis Le Grand in Paris. -Diploma of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (License and master, maths / info) -Diploma of Oxford University (Master, Maths) -Thesis at the epfl Most: -I know very well the students of this age, the requirements as well as the program. In 2016/2017 I was assistant in charge of the engineering analysis course at EPFL, and the student analysis course in mathematics at EPFL (second semester). In 2017/2018, I was responsible for the two analysis courses (first and second semester) of students in mathematics at EPFL. I am responsible in 2018/2019 for the third year course "Sobolev spaces and elliptic partial differential equations". As a young person, I am aware of the difficulties encountered by students (concerning programs but also stress, and the difficulty of passing an exam). I also see students during exercise sessions as well as individually in my office for questions about the course etc. -I am aware of the requirements of the program, which is expected in these streams since I am responsible for the worksheets and exam correction. I took part in the writing of the exams for students studying engineering and mathematics and decided the scale. (followed by a consultation with teachers and other assistants for the courses with a large number of students, eg 180 for mechanical engineers). I would like to point out that these courses are not necessarily reserved for students in difficulty.

Luca
Passionate EPFL student teaches high school Maths. Adapted and relaxed methodology!
- Support, revision or intensive course - From the 11th Understanding and acquisition: these are the two keys to learning! I accompany the student in these two stages so that he ends up mastering the subject: this means that he develops reflexes on the basis of the knowledge that he appropriates. How to make it understood? By illustrating the theory with well-chosen examples and analogies, my goal is for the student to develop intuitive cues within the material. I try to get to know him / her well to find a way to motivate him / her to learn (how does his / her passion relate to the subject?). This prepares him / her to internalize knowledge and methods that are now much more familiar ... How to acquire? It is by exercising that the pupil internalizes knowledge and that the methods become automatisms. I offer guided and adapted activities after having identified its strengths and weaknesses.
