Grade Level: Beginner/Intermediate ESL learners Lesson Duration: 60 minutes Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: introduce themselves and others identify and use basic English vocabulary related to personal information construct simple sentences using present tense verbs ask and answer basic questions related to personal information Materials: Whiteboard, markers, papers, computer Handouts with a list of basic English vocabulary related to personal information Flashcards with pictures of people and things to aid in vocabulary learning Audio recording of basic sentences and questions Procedure: Introduction (5 minutes) Greet the students and introduce yourself. Explain the objective of the lesson and ask the students if they have any previous experience learning English. Vocabulary (10 minutes) Introduce the basic vocabulary related to personal information (e.g. name, age, nationality, occupation, etc.) using the handouts and flashcards. Have the students practice repeating the vocabulary words and matching the words to the corresponding pictures on the flashcards. Grammar (15 minutes) Introduce the present tense verb and its usage. Model simple sentences using the present tense verb (e.g. "I am a student," "She works at a store," etc.). Have the students practice constructing their own simple sentences using the present tense verb. Listening and Speaking (20 minutes) Play the audio recording of basic sentences and questions related to personal information. Have the students listen and repeat the sentences and questions. Have the students practice asking and answering basic questions related to personal information with a partner. Closure (10 minutes) Review the vocabulary and grammar covered in the lesson. Give the students an opportunity to introduce themselves and practice using the vocabulary and grammar covered in the lesson. Ask the students if they have any questions or feedback on the lesson. Assessment: Formative assessment will be conducted throughout the lesson through observation and monitoring of student participation and engagement. Summative assessment can be conducted by asking the students to write or speak about their personal information using the vocabulary and grammar covered in the lesson.
This class is meant for starters who wish to start learning the English language. There will be a bunch of simplified basic lessons covering the four skills ( listening, reading, speaking and writing) built on high standards for better learning, guaranteeing the best learning experience for fresh ones. Lesson Title: Introduction to English Language Lesson Objectives: To introduce students to the basics of the English language To teach students how to pronounce English words correctly To help students develop basic English vocabulary and grammar skills Materials Needed: A whiteboard or blackboard and markers or chalk Handouts with English words and phrases Audio or video recordings of English pronunciation Textbook or other instructional materials for reference. Lesson Procedure: I. Introduction (5 minutes) Greet the students and introduce yourself Ask the students if they have any prior experience with English language Explain the objectives of the lesson II. English Pronunciation (20 minutes) Teach the students how to pronounce the English alphabet Show them how to distinguish between long and short vowel sounds, and between consonant sounds Play audio or video recordings of English pronunciation and have the students repeat after the recording Practice pronouncing some common English words and phrases, such as "hello," "thank you," and "goodbye" III. Basic Vocabulary (30 minutes) Introduce some basic English vocabulary words, such as colors, numbers, and common objects Use flashcards or pictures to help the students remember the words Practice saying the words and have the students repeat after you Encourage the students to ask questions and use the new vocabulary in sentences. IV. Grammar (30 minutes) Introduce basic English grammar, such as sentence structure and verb tenses Use examples to explain the rules and have the students practice forming simple sentences Encourage the students to ask questions and to try using the grammar in their own sentences. V. Conclusion (5 minutes) Summarize the key points covered in the lesson Provide some additional resources for the students to practice their English skills Answer any remaining questions the students may have Homework: Assign the students to practice pronouncing English words and phrases at home Assign some simple exercises for the students to practice basic English grammar and vocabulary skills Assessment: Monitor the students' progress throughout the lesson and provide feedback Use quizzes or written assignments to assess the students' comprehension of the material
