Violin lessons: Instrumental knowledge and music theory for all levels

Music enables our mind to better focus on feelings, skills, interactions with the others, communications and concentration. Making our soul thinking "musically" gives us the possibility to see the world from a different perspective and to develop our creativity! My lessons are designed for kids, teens and adults. Orchestral musician and chamber musician, holder of a double master's degree in pedagogy and performance in France and abroad, I would be happy to accompany you on the way to learning violin. With 15 years of experience, I teach musical initiation, music theory and the viola that I have practiced in chamber music and of course the violin, my main instrument with which I perform in several orchestras and ensembles. Since I have been teaching violin and music, not a day goes by that I tell myself that motivation and pleasure are the biggest drivers of learning. This is why I always favor during my classes a relaxed atmosphere that is conducive to work. Technique is of course very important to me, but it is not just an end in itself.

Es besteht die Möglichkeit, Unterricht zu Hause zu geben, online oder wenn ich bei dem Schüler bin, berechne ich zusätzliche. Bei Bedarf stelle ich das Unterrichtsmaterial zur Verfügung. As scientists admit, music improves language skills, logical thinking, concentration, and has therapeutical effect on us. For me, playing the violin has proved to be that and much more. It has been connecting all the elements of my life - work, dreams of travelling around the world, my social life, my family. They say it is one of the most difficult instruments, but the truth is, it is difficult only if you make it difficult. My aim is to make my students fascinated by it any time they take it in their hands. In my work I concentrate on the needs and interests of the student and work on technique, music knowledge and joy in playing through games, special excercises and my own 27 years of experience in playing the violin.

Geige oder Bratsche lernen für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene - mit Freude und Verstand. Im Unterricht erlernen wir grundlegende und/oder erweiterte Techniken, spielen nach Gehör und lernen, mit musikalischem Text umzugehen, klatschen, singen und spielen zusammen, sprechen über individuelle Probleme und Perspektiven und diskutieren über Musik. Das Ziel ist das eigene Kreativität kennenzulernen und dabei professionelle Fähigkeiten zu erwerben. Mit AnfängerInnen können wir gerne Noten lernen, improvisieren und zusammen komponieren. Für Fortgeschrittene und professionelle MusikerInnen biete ich einen Kurs für erweiterte moderne Techniken an, sowie Hilfe im standarten und zeitgenössischen Repertoire. Ich beschäftige mich mit Musik von mehreren Stilen, von klassische bis zum Folks; im Focus steht aber Ihre Wahl und Interesse.

In violin lessons I offer solid technique development, development of a diverse repertoire and training tailored to your personality and experience. It is important to me that the student can gradually develop independently, in which I am happy to teach music theory basics and tips for independent practice. I like to teach weekly. For beginners it can also be more regular by arrangement. I also offer lessons in music theory, both as a temporary assistant, preparing for entrance exams for music colleges or tutoring at university level.

During the past 17 years, I have taught students with different nationalities and backgrounds. I have been teaching students from local Hong Kong school, Hong Kong international school, Kowloon junior international school, French international school and etc. I'm capable to teach different kinds of students no matter they are too active or shy. My goal of teaching is passing my passion in music to the next generation. I also help students to achieve ABRSM exams from Grade 1 to grade 8 level, Including the latest online exam. I offer Viola and Violin classes to students of all levels and ages. It does not matter if your purpose is to discover these magnificent instruments from the biginning or to improve your current level. I allways belived that starting or deepening the practice of a string instrument is a learning process that, beyond allowing the student to improve and develop their skills as an instrumentalist, serves to increase the student's multiple capabilities. The association capacity that the practice of a musical instrument entails and the discovery of the richness of classical music brings immense benefits for the student. My lessons are adressed both to starting students and advanced ones.

Professional violinist in Basel - Master Diploms from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis - Violin lessons - Solfège teacher - Chamber music lessons - Deutsch, English, Français I like to start from the point of the student, observe his / her abailities and focus a lot on how the body itself can help to develop a good connection with the instrument, in order to create a fluid interraction between the person and the music. For this I try to use my knwoledges of the Alexander Technique. It is important that the position of the instrument is compatible with the body of the student. Furthermore, I like to approach a diverse repertoire from the early baroque period and make the student discover the history of the music in its context. Learning by heart, memorize melodies is also a part of my pedagogy. After my studies of modern violin in France, I studied in Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and got two Masters in baroque and romantic violin. I also have a degree as Solfège teacher. I am taking Alexander Technique lessons and use it in my own practice and pedagogy.
