I am a student of Literature at UNIL (English and Linguistics) and English mother tongue having grown up in Canada and the United States. I give English lessons for any age, any level and any need (conversation, rehearsal, grammar review, exam preparation, etc.) and I have 6 years experience in this field giving classes students of all ages (child, teen, adult). I am also available to help you in your translations (French or Spanish to English) and / or to revise your texts in English (eg theses, CVs). I always listen to the needs and goals of my students. I give lessons in 5 different languages, my goal being primarily to make people love the language, by giving varied, fun lessons adapted to each student. I give my lessons in English. However, If I have a student that speaks French then I speak in French, but only to clarify an explanation that could be difficult to understand in English. I give lessons at my students' home or online. When I give lessons at my students home, I give copies of guides to work with and exercise sheets to put in practice what we learn during the lesson, and when I give lessons online, I prepare an interactive PowerPoint, also composed of guides and exercises, and at the end of each lesson, I send the PowerPoint to my students by email. I try to include in a one-hour lesson, reading, writing and speaking exercises, and as for the comprehension part, the students naturally acquire this skill through the lesson as I mostly speak in English.
