About Me

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
I am a British citizen born in Zambia to parents who are teachers of English. I was educated in the UK and studied at the University of Edinburgh, where I obtained a first class degree in Fine Arts in 1998. Since then I have been fortunate enough to live briefly in Italy and Spain where I taught conversation in English to young people working all over the world. business that needed to improve its spoken English skills. I then had the opportunity to move to New York where I ran a small art gallery working with artists from all over the world. I am now based in Paris where I work as a painter, translator and English teacher. I am a published author with a monograph for Tate London on the South African artist, William Kentridge to my name, and numerous reviews for English art journals in print. I translated texts for the publisher of French artists' books Captures éditions for almost 10 years. Along with my writing, translating and teaching English work, I am a painter and printmaker and consider my rich cultural and literary life to be an essential component of my English teaching.
