About Me

I am quirky and enigmatic, often known to utilise unorthodox methods to familiarise my students with the real tricky concepts in Science. I have logged around 500 hours of private tuition experience and, having been a sixth form student just last year, I have the pressures faced by the A-Level scientist fresh in my mind.

I understand no two people learn the same, and as such sessions will be geared towards you as an individual. As we learn together, I will make note of the teaching styles you are most receptive too. This, in combination with a constant professional dialogue, will allow me to know exactly what tools to utilise in your education.

Choosing me as a tutor will not only up your test scores, but will also give you an appreciation for the beauty and elegance of science as a whole. You will not just learn isolated bits of knowledge from being my student, but you will begin to form in your mind an interconnected web of ideas that you can access - not just in exam situations - but also whenever you find yourself asking questions about the universe at large...

Education

I have A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level, as well as an A in AS Maths. I am currently studying towards a degree in Genetics at The University of Sussex after turning down a position at Oxford.

Experience / Qualifications

I have over 500 hours of private tuition experience. Have personally seen fails turn into passes and indifference turn to a real passion for the sciences.

Pragya
A Moment of Science Please! Science on Finger Tips!
I am Pragya! I graduated in Biochemistry (Honours) from Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. I further went on to pursue my master’s degree in Medical Biochemistry from Jamia Hamdard, Delhi. I am currently pursuing Doctorate in Biological Sciences from Queen’s University, Belfast, United Kingdom. During all these years I realised that the classes I appreciated most were not necessarily the topics I was most interested in, rather it were the professors who made the classes enjoyable and interesting. All these professors had one thing in common, they were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching and moreover were willing to go an extra mile when asked for additional help and clarification. I will carry the same approach and knowledge to my tutoring sessions and do everything to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teaching the material. The biggest strategy I strictly adhere in my sessions is “Revise the old; learn the new”. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and student’s individual needs. I currently demonstrate on module for biomedical science and in total have eight years of tutoring experience. I want to benefit the students I work with best of my capabilities therefore, I am open to any additional resources and suggestions from both students and parents. I am easy to reach and always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!

Private lessons in science of life and earth
I am an engineer and Master 2 in automatic (Electrical Engineering), I can give classes to students of different grades from primary to university depending on the subject. my course is as follows: I expose the course (the theory) and I simplify to the maximum until I reach the understanding by using various methods according to the pupil, in general examples of the everyday life make the case to put the brain at ease and open his desire to understand, then I would go to series of exercises well chosen to sweep all the concepts of the course and implement them.

Philippe
Physics-chemistry extras course by physicist and professor of physics
The courses are adapted to each student, his achievements, his difficulties and his objectives. They are based essentially on the practice of exercises and exam subjects, supplemented by the clarification of theoretical notions that would not have been understood. Clear explanations and effective advice allow you to acquire ease and serenity to fill gaps, better organize your work, regain self-confidence.

Math, Sciences, Computers and software for children, adolescents, adults and seniors
I teach mathematics and science courses for levels: - Primary - Lower secondary - Higher and University Secondary - Central jury I teach computer and software courses: - Programming: Initiation, Beginner, Intermediate - Software: Initiation, Beginner, Intermediate, Experienced Before agreeing on a course, we can discuss the subject to study. In the case of a particular request, we can make a first meeting to discuss the matter to see. If I can help you, we are go! My technique is summarized in 5 steps: - Analysis (of your needs) - Adaptation (to your learning skills) - Motivation - The practice - Repetition

Louis
School Support in Math, English, Science, Biology, Physics.
I have been on this platform for several years now, since I started I have had the opportunity to teach many children who did not find their place in the current school system. Having been in their place, I understand them quickly and I am comfortable explaining to them. In the meantime I also had the chance to go on a humanitarian trip and teach children in need in Vietnam, it was a more than enriching experience and I now carry a very particular importance to education in general. I am now a student of the Grande École hôtelière de Lausanne which allows me to open my field of vision to many other subjects and cultures. My first internship has just ended at the Ritz Carlton Tokyo and I am back in Switzerland, more motivated than ever.

Camille
Private lessons of mathematics from primary to maturity
Hello, I am a student at EPFL in master. I am motivated to give classes. My goal is to advance the student. We will review the course first and then give methods that will allow the student to pass his tests and exams.

Elias
From Rietveld refinement to Quantitative Phase Analysis using FullProf or Topas.
This course is not a crystallography course but rather a practical course on X-Ray or Neutron Diffraction Analysis using a structure solver program. This course is primarily intended for bachelor to Ph.D. students in physics and chemistry, oriented towards the fields of materials science and inorganic chemistry, and feeling not comfortable with the data analysis using the structure solver programs such as FullProf or TOPAS. I do not refine your data, but I discuss methodology with you, I teach and I show you the tricks, I help you to track byproducts if any, and so on... my role is the remove the "black box" effect behind the method and/or the software. This course is adapted to any needs: it can be taken to better understand the key issues of the data collection, the diffractometer setup, the philosophy of the structure refinement workflow and how to adapt it to your needs, the course can be taken to improve your way to perform a phase identification, and generally to better handle the structure solver program. PS: as a researcher, I follow and respect any privacy policies and I understand confidentiality levels associated with your research activities. I suggest to work on basic powder diffraction patterns, or already published data of my own.

Théo
Student in MPSI gives maths and physics from high school to high school on Tours
I am a cool person who does not like to take the lead, with me the lessons are fun and practical and I know how to convey my enthusiasm for science subjects. I am very close to the scientific news and I know many sources on the internet that could take over my courses if you want to deepen a topic. My classes are essentially directed from the concrete to the abstract. I am a student in Maths sup / Maths special at High School Descartes of Tours. I got the BAC S with honors in 2017. I have never taught other people than my little sisters, but I often help my classmates in preparation, they know that I can conceptualize courses and I can give a different point of view than the teacher (which is very academic), which helps them to identify the subject. - I skipped class of CE2 (in Belhomert) - I got my Brevet des collèges mention Très Bien: 16,2 / 20 (at the magnifying glass) - I obtained the BAC S mention Very Good: 17.4 / 20 (Lycée Rémi Belleau) I also won a website creation contest at Lycée Rémi Belleau.
