RECORDER LESSONS FOR ALL AGES & LEVELS, The Hague area, by a very experienced and enthusiastic teacher

MY QUALIFICATIONS
I'm an active performer in some of the most renowned Early Music ensembles in the Netherlands, and with these fantastic colleagues I've played throughout Europe, Asia and Brazil at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals (e.g. Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Utrecht Festival Oude Muziek, TivoliVredenburg, Kölner Philharmonie, Izumi Hall).

I hold a PhD in Music from Leiden University, and Bachelor's, Master's and teaching diplomas from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where I've been teaching since 2012. I am also a certified examiner for higher education in The Netherlands (Basiskwalificatie Didactische Bekwaamheid en Basiskwalificatie Examinering voor HBO-docenten).

WHO I AM
My name is Inês and I'm a professional recorder player, specialized in Baroque music. Music making for me is about communicating; with the audience, with colleagues, with another era, and with myself. Next to my life as a performing musician, I very much enjoy being a teacher (and also a researcher).

MY TEACHING STYLE
I have been a teacher for over 15 years, with students of all ages and levels, from pre-school beginners to conservatory level and experienced amateurs; I equally enjoy teaching children and adults.

I am flexible with my methodology, so together we will find the best way for the student to develop whilst enjoying making music. In a typical lesson we will play together, work on sound, rhythm, musicality, discuss technical issues, learn about ensemble playing etc. If you are interested, we can also talk about differences in musical styles, repertoire and learn about the interesting history of the instrument.

Hello Recorder Lovers, I'm Jeong-Guk Lee. I'm from South Korea and living in The Hague from 2011. I've been playing recorder for 20 years and I've got a bachelor's and master's degree on the recorder. (Royal Conservatory in the Hague 2011-2015, Korean National University of Arts 2005-2011). I'm giving both offline/online recorder classes to all ages and levels of recorder lovers. (Both soprano recorder and alto recorder available, even tenor/bass recorder available) For beginners, we'll follow the curriculum to learn basic skills and basic music theory such as posture, tonguing, breathing, fingering, tone quality, and reading music. For intermediate students, we focus on learning advanced skills to make music professionally and be able to play more complicated music (playing sharps&flats, very high notes, double tonguing, ornamentation..etc) Advanced students, we focus on learning various music from different periods and composers to widen their repertoire and technique. I'm also offering classes online. (ZOOM) I've experienced in teaching online with ZOOM. (It worked much better than I first expected) You just need to download ZOOM on your laptop (Very easy and even no need to sign up). I'm preparing a proper microphone for students to listen to them a good quality of recorder sound/voice. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you:)

Learn the Art of Celtic Music on the Irish Flute
With me, you will have the opportunity to escape to "Celtic" country for a lesson There are several types of Irish flute: (Tin Whistle, Low Whistle, Irish Flute) I will make you discover the beauty of so-called "Celtic" music by explaining everything you need to know. * The basics of this instrument (positions, interviews, breath control, etc.) * The many Celtic Standards. Indeed, there are many more or less difficult songs, but nevertheless very melodious :) If you do not have a traditional Irish flute, during a first lesson, I will be able to guide you on which flute to buy. We will obviously take into consideration your different wishes So if you are ready to deepen your knowledge, I will be happy to teach you what I learned :) NB: If you have a Boehm type transverse flute (transverse flute used in Classical Music), it may take more time to familiarize yourself with Celtic Music. I mean by that that certain positions, certain fingerings will be more difficult to play because of the keys of the flute ... But don't worry, we will find a way to overcome this difficulty. :)

Recorder, flute and piano lessons, from medieval to contemporary music for all ages
“An exciting and versatile young recorder player, committed to pushing the boundaries of his instrument” (Erik Bosgraaf, 2021) Hello! I am a professional recorder and flute player with a passion for both early and contemporary music, offering lessons on the recorder, flute, piano and in music theory in the Amsterdam area and online. I graduated from a Masters in recorder at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Cum Laude, with a scholarship from The Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Previously, I graduated from the Royal College of Music London with a First- Class Joint Honours Bachelor’s degree in Flute and Recorder. In 2021 I was a finalist for the Moeck/SRP recorder competition as part of the London Early Music Festival. I am an encouraging and dedicated teacher who believes that effective practice, rather than talent, is at the heart of any musical development. I share my expertise in how to practice well, varying your approach to make different connections rather than just repeating things - this also helps to keep practice interesting! I am also keen to help each student find their own voice and expression through music, tailoring lessons to each students needs and goals. I have specialist knowledge of medieval, renaissance and baroque music, and can help students to develop skills in historical performance and ornamentation/improvisation. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Laura
Flute and Music Theory tuition for students of all levels
I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

Online Turkish Reedflute (Ney)Course for Beginners and intermediate level
Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Barbara
ON-LINE! Tin Whistle (Penny Whistle, Irish Whistle) lessons
Tin Whistle .... the Irish / Celtic instrument par excellence. The instrument with the special tone. I offer a solid introduction for beginners, reveal "tricks of the trade", and explain the fundamental differences to how to play the flute. The Irish whistle is certainly not the cheap "fun instrument" that it is often viewed as. Inexpensive yes, but by no means cheap.
