About Me

My name is Irene García Núñez and right now I am 37. I come from Guadalajara but live in beautiful Barcelona.
I understood very early that I like teaching languages and studied my masters of Linguistics applied to Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language to do so. I have lived in France, India, Germany and Russia teaching Spanish. During these 10 years teaching (and counting!) I learnt a lot about different methods, people and logics.
I love teaching and learning new languages because it brings us closer.

Education

My bachelor is Translation and Interpreting (English and French). I did one year as Spanish assistant in schools in the South of France and understood that I liked teaching (funny enough I discovered with time that it was adults I prefer to work with) and then studied my masters of Linguistics applied to teaching Spanish as a foreign language to do so.

While working these last 10 years, I have done different courses to learn more about my profession.
I am also a certified tutor for SIELE.

...
Do you want to travel or live in Spain and feel confident? Do you have some trouble speaking and would like to work on your fluency? Are you preparing DELE or SIELE? You always wanted to learn Spanish and have decided that the time might be just now? I can help you! Some of my students were also in the same place as you. My name is Irene García Núñez. I come from Guadalajara, a town close to Madrid, but live in beautiful Barcelona. I understood very early that I like not only learning but also teaching languages and studied my Masters of Linguistics Applied to Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I have lived in France, India, Germany and Russia teaching Spanish. During these 10 years of teaching, I learnt a lot about different methods, people and logics. I have a vast experience with very different students, their needs and the adequate resources for them. I know how to adapt my classes to what students want and need so they make the most of their time and money. I think it is very important for students to feel comfortable and safe. I like learning about my students′ personal interests so we can use them in the learning process. This way what we do and talk about makes sense and is relevant for them. I also speak English, French, German and Russian. I can explain in the student′ s mother tongue if necessary although my goal will be to speak Spanish from the very beginning with affordable exercises adapted to your level. I follow mainly a communicative approach though the goal pursued by the student is what defines the final design of the class. I love teaching and learning new languages because it brings us closer.

TESOL cetified teacher offers conversational courses as well as a continued work on listening, reading, speaking, and comprehension skills.
During my studies in General Linguistics and Spanish, I did a lot of research on L1 and L2 language acquisition and found out that self-paced learning with the full immersion approach leads to more engaged and successful progress in an online classroom. An honest conversation about goals, dreams, or personal achievements can expand the objectives of each lesson and further boosts students’ confidence. I learned about the immersion approach during my first job at the school here in Belgrade, where I taught and mentored groups of students with special needs who needed specifically tailored classes in which they would make a more relatable connection to the language in order to conquer it. That was one of the most meaningful and joyful years of my life. During my work at BetaKid, my enthusiasm was shared by hundreds of students who have remained loyal to me to this day. I want to be a valuable resource for students. I prefer to discuss many different topics and carefully integrate them into previously introduced contexts. That way we can target the vocabulary or grammar of the day so that students can make connections and expand their opinions as well as their knowledge. In my teaching, I always strive to make my students feel heard and understood. On the whole, I have an incredible passion for my profession and would love to share my enthusiasm with learners on this platform! I hope to hear from you soon!

Entertaining List of Irregular Verbs: How to befriend the Beast.
Irregular verbs can be daunting at first. Although the best way to learn them is to use them often, memorizing is also part of the process. What are the best ways to get familiar with them? Step 1: Look up the list. Now you have the BIG SCARY LIST at your disposal. It's somewhere there on your desktop or it's printed on your desk. Step 2: Ask yourself why you need to know the list. The teacher said so. Irregular verbs are verbs that are rebellious and are always misbehaving. They refuse to abide by the rules of grammar unlike their siblings.. the regular verbs which receive -ed for both Past Tense and Past Participle. You need to get used to their forms so that you understand the mythical creature with 12 heads ( Tenses). The list is here as your armour. I put my armour on.. (Unstoppable by Sia) Short Infinitive go Past Tense went Past Participle gone To go (baddie) like liked liked To like (conformist) learn learned/ learnt (British) learned/ learnt (British) To learn (2-faced *inserting insult* ) Step 3: Give up at the sight of the numerous verbs and listen to Sia. Or even better play this guy's song on Youtube; it's a masterpiece: 6 hours Irregular verbs song – Learn 80 common Irregular Verbs in one song. Step 4: Now that the whole house is cleaned and you know how to rap in five languages, you can come back to irregular verbs. On a second look, you notice that they follow patterns too. There are plenty of groups and forums that have the same concerns as you do. You can follow their tricks or come up with yours. Gangs of Irregular Verbs: 1. Verbs that remain the same in the present, past and past participle. ( identical form) 2. Verbs that are the same in the past forms, but not the present. (2 identical forms in the past) 3. Verbs that end in -en in the past participle. Step 5: Now that you have dissected the Big Scary List, it looks ten times smaller. You can use them in sentences and create short stories which have been proved to be more efficient mnemonics than lists. Step 6: Have fun and enjoy learning while learning how to learn. Step 7: Follow my example and take a break too! Cheers!

English Conversation - Learn to speak fluent English with a neutral accent
Learn basic English grammar, tenses, and vocabulary to become fluent in everyday conversation with a neutral accent. I will provide several real-life scenarios and encourage students to hold hesitation-free conversations with a pleasant accent. Regardless of the many languages, one is fortunate to be fluent in, English takes its place as one of the world’s predominant forms of communication with its influences extending over as many as +2 billion people globally. Where it all started Many of you will be forgiven for thinking that studying an English Language course consists of English grammar more than anything else. While English grammar does play a part when taking courses to improve English overall, it is but a small part of the overall curriculum where one becomes immersed in a history that was partly influenced by myths, battles, and legends on one hand, and the everyday workings of its various social class on the other. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, the English language itself really took off with the invasion of Britain during the 5th century. Three Germanic tribes, the Jutes, Saxons and Angles were seeking new lands to conquer and crossed over from the North Sea. It must be noted that the English language we know and study through various English language courses today had yet to be created as the inhabitants of Britain spoke various dialects of the Celtic language.
