About Me

I had the chance to work as an invigilator in English Language Certification Tests at Hellenic English Council and this nice experience motivated me to continue my education with studying English. Therefore, I decided to do a second master's in Linguistics with a specialization in Language and Communication coaching, which provided me with in-depth knowledge and experience for teaching both General English and English for Specific Purposes. During the master, I gained experience in different teaching and learning methods and I found out my interest in the field of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). My master internship helped me enhance my language teaching skills by developing guidelines for the implementation of augmented reality (AR) in language learning classrooms. Furthermore, before finishing my master's, I started to work as a content developer of English courses for an e-learning application, which focuses on the development of spoken English skills applying speech recognition technology.

Through my teaching experience thus far, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will also become more confident in their abilities. Therefore, my greatest strength as an educator is my capability to actively engage the learners. By incorporating up-to-date technology, appropriate literature, and meaningful thematic units, I can effectively facilitate all types and levels of learners, while sparking their interest in education.

I enjoy teaching and thus I am a compassionate teacher, who remains sensitive to learner’s unique needs, provides individual and whole group support, and offers positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated.
