About Me

I Dr. (Mrs.) Kate, a lecturer at the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology, Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. I teach Instructional Technology, General Methods and Subject Methods (Mathematics /Computer Education) at the Faculty of Education, University of Benin. My research areas focus on curriculum issues, with particular emphases on teaching effectiveness of Mathematics Teachers with respect to planning for the lesson, presentation of the lesson, mastery of subject matter, currency and correctness of information, use of teaching Aids, motivation of learners, classroom management, teacher-pupils interaction, lesson evaluation and teacher's dressing appearance, and teachers/students' conceptions of Mathematics ideas or concepts to its greater height. I have over ten years of journal articles and conference papers on the above subjects and their implications for curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation in Mathematics education. In addition, I have sixteen years experience in teaching Mathematics and Computer to students in secondary schools, college of education and University. However, over ten years I have been a Centre Manager and Education/Mathematics Lecturer at (NCE) National Teachers' Institute Kaduna, Iyaoba College, Western Boys High School and Edokpolor Study Centre.
I am a member of many professional associations in Mathematics and Education. I relate and maintain a very good and friendly relationship with my students and I ensure their educational needs and other needs, drive, interests, focus, matters, engagements, and requirements pertaining to their human development, enhancement, and growth are duly met. I take interest in students' parents very dear, subsequently, I render best and satisfactory teaching services to their children and offer advice and guidance to students and their parents. I apply different types of educational experiences, teaching methods, skills, and techniques such as, hands-on apprenticeships, role-playing, live demonstrations, reading printed text, pre-teaching, and use of exit cards, etc. Thereby, to achieve effective teaching and learning outcomes.
