About Me

Namaste!

My name is Jannah. I am a Certified Yoga Teacher from the Philippines. I specialize in Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin Yoga. I discovered Yoga while I was going through a rough time in my life (I broke up with a friend). That time, I was working as a ghostwriter for a psychologist. In my research for the articles that I need to write for this client, Yoga was always on the top of the natural ways to treat depression and anxiety. So, I tried Yoga. Because I am an introvert, I had a difficult time going out of the house just to practice Yoga. So what did I do? I practiced with books and youtube yoga classes. After 6 years, I realized the many great things that Yoga has done for me and that I want to share these with everyone. So in 2018, I took a Yoga Teacher Training. In January 2020, I co-facilitated a Yoga Teacher Training with the teacher who certified me.

As a yoga teacher, my goal is to help my students find balance, not just in but also out of the mat. I also want my students to have a safe and sustainable practice so that they can do Yoga all their life. That said, my classes focus on alignment that is customized based on my student's unique biomechanics and the benefits of breathing.

Jannah is absolutely fantastic. Her kind but encouraging instruction helps me to push myself at the same time as being kind to myself. As a beginner, there’s so much to learn and Jannah makes it enjoyable.
My kid and I enjoyed Jannah's yoga class very much. It was our first time doing yoga, but her kind and clear instructions helped us do the poses without having much difficulty.
So good with our kids (ages 9 and 7) and she had these cute cards that helped illustrate the yoga poses to try out. Very patient and fun. We signed up for a bunch more sessions.

Pattern Making and Sewing Classes Women's wear, Home Textile
With so many things selling outside, still many times it doesn't quite fit our taste and style. With sewing and pattern making skills you can bring anything you've imagined to reality. With good sewing skills you can upscale any DIY project and make it look like you just purchased it at the designers boutique. Learning pattern making allows you to develop any garment from scratch and be sure that nobody has anything like this. I'm adjusting to any level of knowledge from the beginner to advanced. Sharing all the techniques and tricks I know. If you think that you are a hard learner I have a lot of patience and always will find the way to explain everything till I absolutely sure you understand. I'm a practicing fashion designer and have more then 10 years experience of teaching groups and in private.

Arts and Crafts for Mental Wellbeing - Children Age 7-12
In this ongoing Art & Wellbeing For Kids course, students will engage in exercises in drawing, painting, collage, and more. These art projects will develop their artistic abilities, while helping them develop tools to maintain mental wellbeing. Your student will create art that they're proud of, and along the way learn tools to express their emotions, reflect on their feelings, and build their confidence. All abilities and skills are welcome! This class should leave your student feeling accomplished and relaxed each week. The art projects I lead are specifically designed to develop self esteem, self reflection, a diverse emotions vocabulary, and resilience. My teaching methodology is a unique blend of teaching technical art skills with a focus on reflective processes. The creative process helps children express themselves in a non-verbal medium that reflects their emotional state. Engagement with the arts has also been proven to increase confidence and self esteem. I cultivate a safe and supportive learning environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing with the group. In each live class meeting, I will go step-by-step through the art project. Students will have the chance to ask me questions if needed and also have the chance to share their artwork with the class once it is complete. Students are encouraged to work within a dedicated sketchbook to create a portfolio of artwork. Students can join this on-going class at any time and will begin working in their sketchbook during their first class with me. Students will have the opportunity to interact with me during class for support as needed, as well as talk and share with other students.

Sketchbook - The more you fill the pages of your sketchbook and flex your creativity muscles, the easier your imagination will flow
HELPS WITH CREATIVITY The more you fill the pages of your sketchbook and flex your creativity muscles, the easier your ideas and imagination will flow. Sketchbooks are great because you're not confined to just drawing. You can use it as a place to explore different mediums, study different techniques, create color palettes, design patterns, and keep a collection of visuals that inspire you. Using a variety of mediums in a sketchbook also helps grow creativity. Even though I work on a computer all day, I still very much enjoy taking a step back from that to draw or paint, even if it's just a quick doodle. You may find that what you use as inspiration for your sketchbook and the mediums you use cross over into other work. For example, I love hand-lettering, and there are times that skill comes in handy for an editorial feature. What you explore in your sketchbook can open up new doors; it can help push you outside of the norm, where you explore new ideas and maybe even help you define your personal style. KEEPS YOUR SKILLS SHARP Keeping up a sketchbook is a great way to keep my drawing skills sharp. Maintaining that skill is important since sketching out ideas is a major part of my design process. When I get stuck on something, a pencil and a sheet of paper are the first things I reach for because it helps me unload a lot of what’s inside my brain and turn it into visuals. I can then see what ideas are working and what ideas aren't. Sketching is an important aspect of being a graphic designer, and I can see it being a very useful skill in other creative fields as well. By being a creative who practices and keeps your drawing skills sharp, you can quickly and easily sketch ideas that pop into your head and then save that sketch to refer back to when you need it. It’s also comes in handy when you’re trying to communicate ideas to others. Oftentimes I’ll be discussing artwork for an upcoming magazine issue with an editor and sketching layouts frequently comes into play. The ability to sketch has continually proven to be an important and versatile tool for me.

Art and Artcraft: painting and modelling techniques
My Art Class is a moment where I pretty much spend the time teaching painting techniques (sketching, water colour, acrylic, oil, etc....) and notions of Art History simultaneously, navigating through the artistic ages of the past up to the present day. Also I do have an Italian language class where students are individually focused on learning the grammar and composition of the Italian language so that you can easily use it in written and verbal communication. Search: Italian language

Old scripts from nature: learning Chinese characters
Hello! :) Originally, I am an art teacher from China and got a Master's degree in Finland. I am inspired by cross-cultural life and learning experience here and focusing on cross-cultural education of art and language. Chinese is a language, but also a sign back to the ancient. In my class, I will introduce to you the roots of the Chinese characters and also the art and culture related, for example, the original meaning of the character signs, the basic way of writing, the relationship between the characters and the traditional paper cutting crafts... Each class you will get to learn about 20 characters under a theme. You will get inspired by these pictograms created thousands of years ago. Of course, your interests will be the first and most important priority. It can be an art and creativity dialogue about text and image, rather than a language class because I believe that language is invented for emotion, expression, and communication! Hope to see you!
