About Me

I am an energetic person, i love to share my passion with others. I am a violinist at the conservatory of utrecht.
I think anybody can learn an instrument.
I grew up playing violin with my siblings and friends
my mail: [email protected]

Education

I am currently finishing my bachelors at Utrecht Conservatorium. I have been playing violin since I was 6 years old and teaching already for 3 years, private, group lessons and on workshops.

Experience / Qualifications

Suzuki Teacher level 1 certificate. I took a course to become a teacher of the suzuki method. The basic idea of the suzuki method is, to teach children/people an instrument the way they would learn their mother language. It is not only to learn an instrument but to mold beautiful souls and compassionate people. people who understand beautiful music and are surrounded by it everyday, grow up to be beautiful people, on the inside.

Violin Lessons for children, adults, or anyone who wants to learn the violin!
I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. If you would like, I would be more than happy to share some knowledge of music theory along with the violin lessons. Lessons are private and not in groups.

Dear violin lovers! I'm a violin teacher for 10 years now, I have been teaching in Portugal and the Netherlands. My lessons can be given in English, Portuguese, French or Spanish. Playing the violin is my passion, especially when I can pass on my knowledge and love for music to my students of all ages and levels. What is important for me is to work on a good connection with the instrument and find the right basis for the start of your violin playing. In my violin lessons, I would like also to share with you my musical knowledge, show you recordings of great violin players, prepare with you pieces that you always wanted to play and give you the tools so you can achieve your goals in music. I like to share the general knowledge of violin playing as well as basic and intermediate music theory lessons so you can enter in the world of music, but especially to have fun!! My lessons can be shared between violin and theory together depending on what you are looking for. The lessons will be at my house if you are in need of an instrument we can find one for you! I did my Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the teachers Maria Milstein and Eliot Lawson and completed my Masters in Performance degree with excellency as well in Amsterdam under the guidance of Liviu Prunaru and Mathieu van Bellen while studying baroque violin with Shunske Sato. I have my own violin class in Amsterdam, and I love teaching. I look forward to sharing this adventure with you! Hope to hear from you! Louisa

Vivian
Learn how to play the violin and how to improve your violin skills
Hi! I'm Vivian, I'm 20 years old and I study classical violin at the Conservatory of Utrecht. For my methodology class this year I need to find a student to work with. I need to give a minimum of 10 lessons this school year, you can expect to have a lesson every week. It doesn't matter what level you are on - we will talk about your goals and motivation and I will incorporate that in the lessons. The only thing you have to bring with you is a love for music and the violin :) I'm studying classical music, but if you prefer other types of music, that is also completely fine!! these are individual lessons, your wishes are most important!

Camille
Lessons of classical or Jazz/Pop violin in Utrecht
Student at the HKU conservatory in Classical and Jazz/Pop violin, I give private lessons for beginners to advanced violinists. The lessons take place with joy and patience in order to guide the student according to his needs and his personal research. The student chooses what he/her would like to work on, from classical to folklore and improvisation. I apply methods related to the physiotherapy of musicians in order to develop the faculties and deepen the musicality of each musician while respecting the natural postures of the body. After studying in Lyon with Claire Bernard, I entered in the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium in classical and Jazz:Pop violin. Since then, my activities are balanced between chamber music, professonnal orchestras and fusion Jazz bands like Citrus Blossom and Drone Alone.

Ana
Violin lessons for everyone. You don't need to be able to read music to play the violin!
I am Ana Marquez (23 years old), violinist and music teacher from Spain based in the Netherlands, last May I completed my studies at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory. I started my musical education at the age of 6 in Málaga, my birthplace. I followed the Suzuki method from an early age, but I am also familiar with other methods such as the Paul Roland method or the Yehudi Menuhin method. Throughout my musical career I have been inspired and influenced by many great musicians who have guided and taught me. What I hope to offer my students is the ability to expand their vision and love for music, helping them find the music they want to make, play and experience. A technical side is being developed, but a creative, executive and musical treatment will also be present in my lessons. From classical to jazz. My goal is to show everyone how beautiful music can be. And fun!

Toby
Violin lessons, intermediate - advanced (in English, German or Russian)
I am a professional violin and viola teacher based in Zurich, teaching in person at students' location or online, in English, German or Russian. (Reviews below) As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe. I have prepared students for music exams at all levels, working with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and regularly accompany students on the piano. As a performing musician, I perform internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Philharmonie in Berlin. I’m a Tillett Trust and Villa Musica artist, winner of the Małopolska competition, Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London. * Reviews * Stephanie W. Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor. I can not recommend Toby enough and hope to continue lessons with him for a long time. Pamela B. Toby is really a great teacher who teaches the pieces well and brings out more of the feeling in the playing. We particularly liked that. Good technique is one thing, but feeling the music is such an important element in music and learning a piece of music. He also teaches theory very well! Tatyana M. Toby is a fantastic teacher. He is very reliable as he is consistently organised and punctual. I constantly see progress in my child’s music skills because every lesson Toby delivers is effective and well-structured. I highly recommend him to all who wish to learn or improve on their music skills. Shaun W. Knowledgeable and frank, Toby was able to provide me with crucial information quickly and efficiently. Hanna S. Toby can explain things very well and understandably, is patient and friendly and easily adapts to the student's level. Jacques R. Toby is an excellent tutor with top teaching skills..he teaches music theory in a way my 12 year old son understands the lesson easily; Toby is very attentive
