About Me

Hello,

I'm a Canadian pianist, currently a doctoral candidate at l'Université de Montréal and simultaneously pursuing a second Masters degree at La Haute École de Musique de Genève.

I really enjoy sharing what I do with others – helping them overcoming obstacles in playing the piano and improving their pianistic skills is always a pleasure for me. I'm very patient and enthusiastic in my teaching; having been a student my whole life (and I hope to continue learning in this way!), I know how wonderful it can be when you meet someone who is open to helping you through your personal challenges based on your individual background so I really aim for that type of teaching. I'm there to help in any way I can.

As a bonus, my doctoral research pertains to the neuropsychology of learning and the most efficient way to develop a skill – my goal is to help you develop the skills necessary to become an independent learner. I have a lot of tricks from my research and own experiences which I'd be more than glad to share!

Very happy to help you work towards whatever goals you may have, whether it be starting to play the piano or preparing for competitions or exams.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Looking forward to hearing from you! :)

PS: I'm also available as an accompanist.

Stef
Singing, piano, body awareness and music theory lessons :)
Hi to everybody! :) My name is Stef, I am a lyrical singer from Barcelona who currently lives in Montréal (and I love it!). I teach singing, piano and musical theory for ALL AGES and GENRES! About SINGING, I am going to teach you how to use your voice in a healthy way. In class, we'll learn about: - Body awareness - Support (yes, we'll talk about the diaphragm!) - Breathing - Phonation - Tuning - Phrasing - Declamation - Projection - Confidence - Stage presence - Communication through emotions - Piano self-accompaniment (so you can give proper concerts to your beloved ones!) - And MORE!! If you feel interested about the vocal world and you want to begin or improve and expand your knowledge, drop me a line. Tell me which repertoire you want to work with and let's sing it! About PIANO and MUSICAL THEORY lessons, they are based on a super piano book. With that and my technique you'll learn a lot! For kids, I have several books that are fantastic for them as well! Also, I'm here to help you with your EXAMS and AUDITIONS :) My philosophy is QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. To achieve that, it's important to establish a trust-based relationship between us. My lessons are taken in a comfortable and open-minded environment. I find this point essential to feel free and make music from the heart. So, what are you waiting for? Don't hesitate to contact me to book your first lesson! It will be a big pleasure to work with you :) Remember: FUN is mandatory! :D

Classical / jazz piano lessons and / or singing lessons at home for all levels
Graduated from a Diploma in Musical Studies mention A + from the Jacques Thibaud Conservatory in Bordeaux (France) and a master's student in piano interpretation at the University of Montreal, I have been working as a piano teacher for four years now. I teach piano and music theory to all types of profiles, children, adolescents or adults ranging from a beginner level to an early 3rd cycle level. During my musical journey, I tried to feed my knowledge in the service of instrumental practice and pedagogy. During my lessons, we will address subjects that are essential for me such as the right position on the piano, the flexibility of the game, stress management, body relaxation and of course, interpretation. My pedagogy is based heavily on this last point so that the student can stand out musically and find his own language while respecting a correct interpretation. I work every day to find a playful side to the instrumental practice for the youngest while instilling in them the theoretical and technical bases which they will need to develop their game. I obtained a degree in Music Studies at the Conservatoire Jacques Thibaud in Bordeaux (France) with a Mention of High Honors, I am a student in Musical Interpretation at the University of Montreal and I've also been teaching piano for the last 4 years. I teach piano and music theory to any type of profiles, from kids, teenagers to adults with level skills that can go from beginners to confirmed players. Throughout my musical path, I've tried to increase my knowledge and expand it thanks to a lot of practice and pedagogy. In my courses, we will see things that I find essential such as the good position on the piano, the flexibility of your hands, how to deal with stress, the relaxation of the body and of course, interpretation. My pedagogy is mainly based on this point to make the student musically shine, find his own musical language but with a right and harmonious interpretation. I work everyday to try to find playful ways to teach the youngest students without forgetting to teach them the technical and theoretical basis they will need to develop their skill.

I teach Entry level, Beginner, and Intermediate Piano and Guitar lessons. I focus on different styles, techniques, and rhythms, with a broad base of musical genre. These classes are designed for aspiring musicians with some musical background and also those with little or none. I also put some emphasis on incorporating students' own personal musical tastes and styles to bring their own passion to the music they want to play.

Piano Lessons with the Best Colombian Young Pianist!
Considered “Best Colombian Young Pianist 2018” after winning the first prize in the national piano competition in Colombia. I have a Master's degree from Liszt Ferenc in Budapest, Hungary, and a Master's degree from Columbus State University in the United States. Besides my career as a pianist, I have over 10 years of experience in teaching Piano, music theory, and history for all ages and categories. Even if you are a beginner we can do it. I have a personal method where I combine both classical and commercial repertoire depending on the student’s preferences. I usually play four hands with my students as well and organize at least one concert a year with all my students where they can meet and share their experiences. If you are an enthusiast about Piano and competitions, we can also work on that together, I will guide and support you through all the steps of the learning experience.

Aleksandra
Classes of singing jazz, pop and all other kinds of modern music in Copenhagen
Aleksandra is a trained singer, singing teacher and choir conductor from the Academy of Music in Gdansk and Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona. She took to the stage in her childhood and has been teaching music for the last 6 years. For several years she was a chorister of the prestigious Polish National Youth Choir and leader of Vocal Quintet Solifonia. Currently, she is a choir conductor and the founder of CHOIR CLUB in Korskolen. What can you expect from her teaching? She believes that singing can be passion, a communication tool, a means of therapy and so much more: more than you can imagine! In her classes, you will learn key vocal techniques as well as learning to understand your voice. You will discover the deeper meanings of the songs you sing as you seek to express them to the world. As she is working towards becoming an Accredited Teacher of IVTOM (International Voice Teachers of Mix) she focuses on delivering teaching based on the Mix principles: by mixing the chest and head voice you receive the full benefits of “both voices”: the natural and powerful sound of the chest voice, and the beauty and range of the head voice. As a singer learns to sing using both of these resonances and trains the vocal folds to stay together, it is possible to vocalize smoothly and evenly from one register to the next. The relationship of the two elements working together will create an even, smooth vocalization and, as a result, eliminates the “breaks” in the voice. She has a good knowledge of playing the piano, so you can sing along to her accompaniment or accompany yourself under her supervision. What does the first lesson include? You’ll talk about: - your background and musical experience - all the circumstances that can influence your sound production - your needs, expectations and plans You also find out: - what your bad habits are - how you can start your singing technique - what kind of exercises will help you best achieve your singing goals Who is welcome? - Children (8+), adolescents and adults - Singers of all kinds of popular music - Students who want to learn hearing / rhythm theory - Individuals, groups and families
