Piano Lessons aiming at ABRSM Piano Exams (Grade 3-8)

About the teacher:
First, Professional. Holding a Master in Music post-graduate degree, the teacher has been teaching piano lessons professionally for 17 years. She has a solid theoretical foundation in music teaching, composition, and piano performance.
Second, a kind attitude with patience, as well as proper pedagogy for different levels of students. She has taught students who easily pass ABRSM grade 8. She also possesses excellent patience with young kids under the age of six. During the last ten years, her goal has been to solve an important issue: how to make students interested in piano playing. Most kids who learn the piano would give up before or during their teenage time. However, 99% of them regret it when they grow up. In Christina's lesson, she will acknowledge to the students and parents clearly what difficulties they will face during the process of music learning.
It's more important that students learn to develop a good habit, a worthwhile hobby, and the perseverance that will benefit their whole life.

About the class:
This class aims to prepare for the ABRSM piano grade 1-8 test at a more intensified pace. The student is supposed to possess certain musical knowledge or required piano skills. The teacher will help the students develop their missing skills to pass the exam. Different students may require different class lengths.

For a child under the age of six, the teacher recommends less time for each class but a higher frequency. Kids who took the piano class twice a week and half an hour each class usually progress faster than those who took it once a week. For kids who practice longer time, it is also advised to take the course longer time. A child who practices two hours a day could play Beethoven's Fur Elise within one year, but for a child who practices less than half an hour per day, this goal usually takes more than four years to achieve.
For adults who have greater self-control, it is advised to take the class for a longer time per class but with less frequency.

About the price:
It’s not fixed, depending on the distance. If the travel time is less than half an hour to the students’ home, the price will be the same as at the teacher’s home.

Extra information

The "available time" of the teacher is subject to change, so please confirm with the teacher first. Apprentus does not allow anyone to give other contact info in the message, so please don't give it out in your message. Otherwise, it will be automatically blocked and the teacher will not receive your message.

If you choose an online class, please note that an online class usually takes longer time than an on-site class. I suggest the pre-school child to have a parent around when having the class, because it's hard to focus when the teacher is just a screen rather than a real person.

Recently many of my students in HK switched to online due to the pandemic wave here. The online classes work very well. I can use multi-media to share screens and make the instruction clear. As a result, I plan to offer a new category of online piano and music theory classes. About the teacher: First, Professional. Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am Fawzi, a French language teacher. I have been giving private lessons online since 2012. I offer specific sessions to meet your needs and objectives to pass your DELF (Diploma in French Language Studies) or DALF (Advanced Diploma in French Language), including the TCF (French Knowledge Test). I accompany many interested parties of different nationalities thanks to online courses since 2012; for me, helping enthusiasts to practice the French language is a very good experience because I understand that success is a key objective in the life of ambitious people. I speak Arabic, French, Spanish, a little English and a little Turkish. I explain my lessons in French, Arabic or Spanish, depending on your choice. And at the end of each session, I give lessons with exercises to do as homework to examine your shortcomings and monitor your progress. -------------------------------------- Here are some things to know about the DELF and DALF: The DELF (Diploma of Studies in French Language) and the DALF (Advanced Diploma in French Language) are two official and quality diplomas. They are harmonized on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They include the following six levels, in ascending order: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. These two diplomas are suitable for all ages and all audiences. In addition, the DELF B2, and increasingly the DALF C1, allow students to enter French, European or French-speaking universities, and certain Grandes Ecoles. -------------------------------------- Will you have DELF or DALF exams to pass? Do you need to follow specific sessions with me to improve your level? Don't hesitate to book your sessions so that we can start the preparation. I am available !

Cheslava
Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional education
From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
