Hello, I am a 20-year-old piano student at the Graz music university and am offering piano lessons with some music theory for various levels and ages, from complete beginners to advanced players. I have a decent amount of experience in teaching at music school and also privately. I offer piano lessons for beginners and slightly advanced students of all ages! I have been playing the piano with enthusiasm for about 13 years and I like to pass on what I do with enthusiasm! :) I am currently teaching 6 "students" aged 6 - 22 years ANYONE can play the piano, especially at the beginning, with the right technique and approach you can achieve great success in just a short time! That's why it's important to me to adapt to each of my "students" individually and to adapt the lessons to all wishes and needs! I come from Estonia and there, aside from singing studies, I worked as a teacher of music theory subjects (solfeggio, prima vista, basic theory) at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music College (conservatory level) for 4 years (2018-2022) and was the head teacher of the department for music theory for 2 years (2020-2022). Briefly to me: My musical career began in elementary school, later followed by the music secondary school in Weiz and then the music high school in Graz. At the age of 6 I learned to play the recorder, until I switched to the saxophone at the age of 8. After studying at the music school in Gleisdorf, I went to the Graz Conservatory and after graduating from the music high school, I studied at the University of Music & Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), where I did vocal and instrumental pedagogy (IGP) at the Institute for Popular Music with a focus Studied classical sax. I took my own instrumental lessons from Richard Winkler, Wolfgang Puschnig, Martin Fuss, Klaus Dickbauer and Fabian Rucker, among others. There are also countless workshops with e.g. Branford Masalis, Randy Brecker, Torsten Skringer etc. In my career, instruments such as piano, clarinet and flute were added. I'm a professional musician myself and play in bands such as "Candlelight Ficus", "Die Ranzler", "Moneka Group" and "Matho & Das Vienna Dancehall Orchestra", as well as jobs with big bands, DJ's and much more. A typical class would start with warm-up exercises, then we would work on repertoire that I can suggest (after I can assess the vocal range). Of course you can always take pieces with you! I can also accompany you on the piano for my own repertoire suggestions. The human voice is the instrument that is closest to us. That's why I believe that through voice training you not only find the joy of singing, but also get to know yourself and your own body much better. I am studying solo singing myself and am therefore really looking forward to motivated singers. Above all, a natural and healthy singing technique is very important to me, because only then do you have the right tools to work musically and interpretatively. My current schedule changes every week (rehearsals/university/concerts) so for now I would always make appointments a week in advance instead of keeping a fixed date every week.

Nevertheless, it is important to me to teach you proper playing technique right from the start. To me: I completed my diploma studies in violin performance in Innsbruck and also completed my bachelor's degree in instrumental pedagogy at the Mozarteum Salzburg. I am currently studying at the Graz University of Art, where I am pursuing two master's degrees, one in violin performance and one in chamber music. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons to students of all levels. As a pianist with 14 years of teaching experience and over 23 years of playing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the course of learning piano. If the student is interested in a more serious approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist in orchestra (also as a harpist), and receiving top prizes in several competitions.
