DUTCH FOR BEGINNERS: A COURSE TO LEARN THE BASICS OF DUTCH

I teach (basic) Dutch to (young) adults who speak other languages. The purpose of the lesson is to be able to have easy and simple conversations in daily life. In addition, there is also practice on language comprehension and written language production. We practice Dutch on the basis of role plays, audio clips and newspaper articles. Also people who already have some knowledge of Dutch are more than welcome to join. During the first lesson we will discuss your requirements so that I can adapt my lessons accordingly.

In these lessons I offer you the opportunity to learn Dutch in an efficient way. We focus on the language skills that you find most difficult: grammar, spelling, writing skills, speaking skills, listening skills, ... You can count on a personal and highly interactive approach in which I would like to immerse you in this beautiful language! Homework assistance is certainly also an option.

I offer basic Dutch to Thai people with little or no knowledge. I speak thai, Dutch and English fluently. Suitable for people who have just moved to Belgium and want to learn Dutch (Flemish) or children who want tutoring to understand Dutch faster.

If your child is having difficulties in school, I would love to be able to help them overcome them. I had the opportunity to work in several non-profit organizations (Schola ULB, Youth Club, CIFA, ABEF) where I helped young adolescents to understand their subject in French, English and Dutch. I also helped them prepare for their exams, including the CEB and CE1D. We will work together on their lessons, we will review the vocabulary and grammar they need to know and we will work on their difficulties in order to overcome them. In view of the current situation, I teach only online.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

I am a very experienced teacher in Dutch as a second language. I love working with people from other countries because it widens my view and apart from teaching you a new language, I will learn from you about new cultures. For me, learning a new language is first of all learning to get around in daily life. So, a beginners course will always start with this basic information: introducing yourself; making appointments with the dentist, hairdresser, and so on; shopping; going to a restaurant; etc. On an intermediate level, we will work on your speaking skills: having a conversation with your colleagues about your weekend, reading a newspaper article and talk about it; talking about your hobbies, etc. With advanced students we can work on whatever field they need; for example work or other things that are important for you.

Are you preparing for the civic integration exam/ het inburgeringsexamen? I would be happy to help you pass the exam successfully. We will use practice exams to get you more comfortable with the questions and I'll give you tips. We will also look into the grammar points that are necessary for the exam. We will work on all 4 aspects: speaking skills, writing skills. reading skills and listening skills. I would like to hear what you current level of Dutch is, so we can make a proper planning for you.
