About Me

I am an enthusiastic pianist and chemist with specialization in sustainability chemical engineering for the latter. During my secondary education, I followed a double specialization degree in music and science which led to my Grade 7 Piano certification from the UK’s Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2008. I then graduated from London Metropolitan University (UK) with a BSc in Chemistry in 2011, followed by an MSc in Sustainable Chemical Engineering in 2012 and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Newcastle University (UK) in February 2017. I have experience in bioremediation studies for developing novel technologies for chemical and energy production.

They say that people who love science, love to play a musical instrument. My interests are chemistry, the environment and the piano. I have been playing the piano since the age of six and I have participated in national competitions and concerts.

Xenia is a well prepared and qualified teacher
I have only taken two lessons for now with Xenia, but I am enjoying it so much and I am super excited! :) Xenia is a very good teacher, she always plans the lessons very well in advance, with a good balance between theory and practice. I would always recommend her.
Xenia is friendly, supportive, knowledgeable and thoughtful. Her lessons are well-prepared and tailored to the student's level and interests. She is so very organised that you feel she has really given care to the pieces she has selected for you. She is able to balance knowledge and skills with application in beautiful musical compositions. She is also flexible and if something doesn't go according to plan she is open to change and variation to best suit your needs at the time. I look forward to my lessons with her each week and know that together we are not only making great progress but also enjoying and fostering the love for music. Anyone, young or old, would be very lucky to have her as a teacher and I recommend her whole-heartedly.
Thank you very much for your time Xenia. It was a great time for my daughter to learn with you. We are looking forward to the next class.
Thank You Xenia. The classes have been really good for Disha and he is enjoying it a lot.

This class is designed not only to teach the concepts and fundamentals needed to perform on classical piano but aspire young musicians. It will increase musical understanding beyond reading notes and by introducing a vocabulary of chords, keys, scales and arpeggios as well as music theory. Students will develop good practice habits, and learn techniques to increase the muscular agility and flexibility of their hands. I have been studying music since the age of six and I have been involved with national competitions and concerts. I am certified with a Grade 7 in the ABRSM system and currently in preparation to obtain the final level (Grade 8). I am a part-time piano teacher and I have experience with children and teenagers. In addition I am an active member of the Les culturElles (NGO) in which I am responsible of the creation and development of the music part of ongoing and future projects. You can receive your private piano lessons from the comfort of your own home, or at my location. Nights and weekends are available. Lessons can be in English, Greek or French. Students can start as early as 4 years old and there isn't an upper age limit for adults. It is never too late to start learning the piano, and it is never too late to get back to it. Where words fail, music speaks! (by Hans Christian Andersen)

Physics-chemistry extras course by physicist and professor of physics
The courses are adapted to each student, his achievements, his difficulties and his objectives. They are based essentially on the practice of exercises and exam subjects, supplemented by the clarification of theoretical notions that would not have been understood. Clear explanations and effective advice allow you to acquire ease and serenity to fill gaps, better organize your work, regain self-confidence.

Gregory
Homework help math, natural sciences in english, french, german
This course and a homework help court, designate to accompany a student during the school year. The course covers math and science from primary school to high school. The first part of this course is normally reserved for the revision of the student's duties. In addition any question and uncertainties are answered and explained. Then follow the cramming part to reinforce learned concepts until students become self-confident about applying techniques. At the end of the course, if the time and the situation allow, I prepare the students for their next school class. In addition to the subjects I am struggling to explain to students how to "learn to learn" so that my classes have a long lasting effect. This includes showing them how to get organized and prepare for the exams. I have over seven years of experience during which I was able to help dozens of school children improve their grades. I am also comfortable with children and young people with serious problems such as dyscalculia, fear of school or serious demotivation. For these children I strive to be even more patient than usual, explaining every little detail in a way that is easy to understand until everything is understood. In addition to the subjects I am struggling to explain to students how to "learn to learn" so that my classes have a long lasting effect. Being trilingual, I am fluent in French, German and English at the same level. Classes can be held in any of these languages.

Private lessons in Life and Earth Sciences high school level
I propose to review and deepen the programs of SVT of college and high school, both in terms of substance and form, emphasizing the scientific approach, helping the drafting of syntheses and rigorous analysis of documents. The realization of some practical work (in particular the use of the software approached in progress) is also possible. SVT teacher for 6 years, having worked in different schools and also taught abroad, I hold the CAPES since 2015. I had the opportunity to teach in all levels of middle and high school, most regularly in classes of 1 ° S and Terminale S (including specialty program), and was delighted to be able to accompany students to the baccalaureate. I also worked with elementary school students, as well as dys- and other students with attention disorders, and did homework help and tutoring until the end-of-school level. middle School. Holder of a Master of Research in ecology / environment, as well as a Master's degree obtained at the University of Orsay during my preparation for the aggregation, I obtained my CAPES in July 2015. I then benefited from a year postponed internship, during which I left to teach in French lyceum in Mauritius, and then returned to validate my competition on the academy of Lyon. I have also been eligible for the aggregation twice.

Victor
Repetiteur gives course of sciences SFO (physics, chemistry, statistics) for first year of medicine in Geneva
The methodology is the key to success for a student in the first year of medicine at the University of Geneva. It must be understood that this methodology is based on a fine balance between "being systematic", (ie ensuring all learning objectives) and "being effective" (ie working on the topics that most often come under discussion). In terms of science learning, I base my courses entirely on multiple-choice questions of two types: -Quest instructional questions: the goal is to check your understanding of the learning objectives; -question "type" exam: to prepare you for the level of difficulty required and get used to answer questions in 2 minutes on the day of the exam. In addition to tutoring I also offer courses in e-learning on my platform exa-MED tutoring. These recorded courses are available from 10CHF / hour and published every Sunday for you to test yourself on the SFO and SMB courses of the week! It's your turn!

Course for learning Italian-French - science
Graduated in Biology and in the process of studying to become a teacher, I offer Biology, Italian and French courses for adults and children with the use of alternative and functional methods tested by my experience. My goal is to advance the student without overloading him. I give homework after each lesson and periodically provide progress reports.

Christian
Private lessons in Biology and / or Chemistry and / or French and / or Italian
The student will choose one or more of the 4 courses offered. This particular course is intended to help students with academic difficulties concerning the two scientific subjects: biology or chemistry, or also concerning the two languages: French (especially grammar and conjugation) or Italian (Level A1 and A2). Being a Master student in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and knowing that the curriculum of Pharmacy studies mainly includes chemistry and biology in detail, I would be able to help students with difficulties regarding these two modules in a proper way to aim for excellence. Also my linguistic knowledge in French, English, Arabic, and Italian, pushed me to be a source of help to students who find difficulties in French (especially Grammar and conjugation) and Italian. I will be as always, flexible and I will respond as much as necessary to the student so that he can succeed his year by managing his stress with enthusiasm and perpetual courage.
