Experience / Qualifications

Guillaume is a Belgian composer and conductor. Like most Belgian children he started studying, music history, music theory, piano and accompaniment at the village music school. At age 18, he decided to study music at third level and attended courses in Harmony and Counterpoint at the Lemmens Instituut of Leuven. Two years later he transferred to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Liege to join the Class of Belgian composers Michel Fourgon and Gilles Gobert in Composition and Experimental music. While continuing his courses in Belgium, he was accepted at the Conservatorium Maastricht, The Netherlands for classes in «Contemporary music ensembles Conducting» These classes were given by Stockhausen’s former student and renowned German conductor, Robert HP Platz. After he obtained his BA’s in Composition, Orchestra and Contemporary music ensembles Conducting, he continued his education by undertaking an MA in Composition with Michel Fourgon and in parallell an MA in Orchestra Conducting with Patrick Baton.

After graduation in 2017, he decided to deepen his musical knowledge in Music Technology at Dublin Institute of Technology / Pulse College in Dublin, Ireland. There, he worked with renowned composers Christopher Young (Spiderman 3, Drag Me To Hell), orchestrator Tommy Laurence (How To Train Your Dragon 2, Kung Fu Panda 2), former vice-president of music production at Disney Studios Andy Hill (Lion King, Beauty and the Beast), orchestrator Conrad Pope (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Star Wars) as well as many others from within the film industry and the concert world including Dr. Linda Buckley and Dr. Garrett Sholdice.

During his years in Belgium he was appointed as head organist at the St. John the Baptist church of Wavre, Belgium. In 2008 he founded the Symphonic Orchestra and Choir, SOFYA in collaboration with one of his former teachers Pierre Stein. In 2014, he was appointed for two years as artistic director and conductor of the Orchestre Jean-Noël Hamal de Liège, and for one year as conductor of the young Dutch contemporary music ensemble, the Chaves ensemble. In November of that same year the Orchester der Großregion premièred his first major work, cello concerto “Der Kreis”. This was performed in several halls across Europe. During the next years he founded a chamber orchestra in Liège with his colleague Aymeric Cabley and had the opportunity to assist serveral conductors during international festivals, including: Jean-Bernard Pommier (Piano Prestige – Festival in Cazouls-lès-Béziers, France) and Robert HP Platz (Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Saarbrücken, Germany and the Guitar+ festival in Wurzburg, Germany). In 2015 he was appointed as conductor of the Flemish chamber choir Helicante, Belgium.

His compositional career embraces both large and small-scale choral works, orchestral and instrumental pieces and music for visual media. His music has already been played by several ensembles throughout Europe. His deep affinity for both music and technology brings him to deepen his knowledge about the future of humanity through his music, performances and installations. His increased use of technology in his compositions has impacted his thought processes and his compositions, wherein spatialisation and interactivity are now key. He firmly believes that creating music, for concert as well as for visuals, is all about collaboration. Artists must work together to tell a story and to produce a shared vision that everyone can be proud of.

Top! Super patient et très chouette. Merci Guillaume
A great refresher class of organ, perfect if you want to dive into playing after a period of absence. All perfect, from fundamentals (how to practice the technique) to the expression, history etc. I would recommend Guillaume for all levels and instruments.

Vinicius
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Guitar Lessons
Hello, my name is Vinicius, I am a Brazilian Biologist and I am completing my Masters in Neuroscience at VU Amsterdam. I have been playing guitar since I was 11 and I have been teaching the instrument for almost 10 years now. I believe that motivating the student and helping him to integrate the instrument into his daily routine is the most important role that a teacher can do. My methodology is the flipped-classroom and I use the Google Classroom platform: every week, I will write a study guide with details of what we discussed during class + references (videos/blogs/books). This can be used by the student to study carefully at their own pace. During our next class, we will discuss the points you had the most difficulty and advance your knowledge further. I can also record videos and write essays from scratch specifically for you, whenever the material is not available online. About me I learned to play the guitar on my own - later in life I had classical training at university (singing, piano and classical guitar). I play Fingerstyle guitar, popularized by artists like Andy McKee, Tommy Emmanuel and Antoine Dufour, which consists of playing melody, harmony and percussion at the same time.

Zara
Classical singing and piano lessons for all levels and ages
Dear parents and students, I am a professional singer and pianist from Hong Kong, having more than 10 years of experience in music teaching. I graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor degree in music, Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with a Master degree in classical singing (cum laude) and also the Post-master degree in classical singing. I am currently an opera singer working with conductors and directors from houses and studios such as Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Komische Oper Berlin and Royal Opera House. I am a holder of Licentiate Trinity College of London (LTCL) vocal and piano performance certificates, both with distinctions. Besides, I am a holder of ABRSM Grade 8 music theory certificate with merit. I have given singing and piano lessons to students ranging from 2 to 40 years of age. Very happily, all of them had obtained distinctions at their ABRSM exams, some of them also won first prize at competitions. However, I do not teach music because of this. Distinctions and prizes are bonuses, but most importantly, I hope my students can enjoy and understand music. For beginners, I focus very much on building basic techniques, but I also share my knowledge about music history and theory when they need. For more advanced students, I teach more about musicality and music presentation, alongside with basic techniques. Since I grow up at one of the best English schools in Hong Kong, I can communicate in English very fluently without accent. Besides English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese are my mother tongues. I can also speak some simple German. I am confident that I will provide my students the best learning experience.

Professional saxophonist eager to teach and work to make the best of yourself! Classes are for all levels, children or adults. We follow a working method where you will develop in a continuous and deep way your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique. -------------------------------------------------- ---------------------- Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his MASTER DIDACTIC in 2018 in the Ecole Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Before, he also followed a MASTER of INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of mixing all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic finality. This type of research has been observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of human needs hierarchy where he mixes live, recorded music from the dance, light effects and effects under the name of "according to Maslow ..." At the level of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo, duet, trio, quartet, orchestra ...) and different countries such as Japan ("Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (2016 Musiq3 Festival) ), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016 ...), France (Dax 2011 chamber music festival) or Spain (Quincena Musical Music Festival 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Kutxa Festival 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Wouter
(Bass) Guitar, Music theory and Solfège in Wittevrouwen, Utrecht
Hello (future) musician! Do you also have a song in your head that you would like to play? Always wanted to play electric or acoustic guitar or bass guitar? Have you never touched a string, or are you advanced and looking for new challenges? I have been giving guitar lessons since 2007 with great pleasure. In addition to these private lessons, I worked at the Guitar Academy in Amsterdam, at Muziekles Den Bosch and at Art in Music in Utrecht, next to my work as an executive musician. I studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg and Musicology at Utrecht University. Broad interests, reflected in the hoevelheid styles I play and education (from pop and rock to salsa, tango and gypsy to metal and jazz). I also give solfège and music theory. It does not matter how exotic your interest, I can help you get better! In addition, I can choose and arrange songs for you, so that there is no limit to your imagination: learn to play what you want to learn to play. These lessons are not given in a large, impersonal music school: lesson duration and lesson dates are discussed and are flexible. Personal and smooth, easier for everyone. Besides guitar enthusiast teaching is a big passion of mine, and I think that is essential to be able to offer good lessons. Whether I teach you how to play your first songs in a few lessons, or whether we are going to pick up some tough pieces, it is a pleasant and productive learning process. Lessons in Wittevrouwen, Utrecht or at extra cost at home. If you have questions, mail or call!

Dorelle
Cello lessons and / or solfège in Brussels and Leuven
My name is Dorelle and I play cello and piano since I was little. For me, art in general plays a particularly important role in life :-) Currently, after a year of Erasmus in Germany I will finish my studies in Leuven at the Lemmensistituut. The important thing for me in learning the cello is to have fun while making sure to find a good position that will not generate tensions later. I give an hour of class in general, but can adapt to the desires of the student without worry, whether in terms of course times or to find cool songs that change the repertoire "classic"! I can also help more advanced students who need support to pass an exam or progress more quickly.

Daniele
Saxophone, music theory and improvisation - all levels
This course is for anyone that's interested to play the saxophone at any level, from the very beginners to students interested in more advanced topics such as improvisation, both in unconventional ways or more founded on the tradition of Jazz. The course will be adapted to the pupils goals and level, with a demanding but not overpowering approach. The frequency can also be optimized to the pupil's necessities: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (not less). I believe that the main goal of a mentor should ultimately to make the pupil become his own teacher and establish an empatic two-way learning process.
