Jay helped me a lot in acquiring a correct pronounciation through different methods. He has a clear and efficient strategy to meet the student's need. Thank you Jay!
Nice teacher with a clear approch of teaching. The way I was looking for.
Public speaking classes with Jay were top-notch! Even though we held the classes online, he has the rare ability to make you feel at ease in a second and I felt fully engaged. Jay covered a variety of subjects regarding tone, speed, volume, pronunciation, etc. with different exercises. I've noticed continuous progress throughout the classes and I have now a better control of my public speaking skills, which will be of great use both in personal and professional contexts. I highly recommend!
A highly recommended teacher. He immediately understood my needs and wishes, and in such a short time I've already learned so much.
I spent an excellent intensive week with Jay. I learnt so much more than I thought I would, thanks to his methods, patience, kindness and coolness! Thank you Jay

Explore Public Speaking through... Intonation and Melody When training for a presentation, decide which words and passages deserve extra attention and increase the tone to emphasize these points. If something sounds exaggerated or false, your audience can turn against you. Volume A speech is not ordinary conversation, and a presenter can’t convey passion and enthusiasm if the words are delivered softly. Clarity Don’t forget to articulate every word, to ensure clarity on your part and understanding on the part of the audience. Emphasis Even in the same sentence, emphasizing different words can change the focus of a message. Changing emphasis can alter meaning and/or implication. Pauses when pauses are placed in strategic spots in a speech, they can make the difference between a good and an excellent presentation. There are several purposes for which pauses can be used: to give listeners a chance to absorb something that’s just been said; to generate expectations about something that’s going to be said... Pacing & Tone If you often get negative feedback about the faster or slower delivery of your speeches, practice delivering a speech sometimes faster and sometimes slower, so you can arrive at a natural pace.
As an Academic English Specialist, I provide Immersion Courses, American English adaptation/translation services, career-building tools and documents and have a niche for pronunciation correction and TOEIC Preparation. I teach general ESL (English as a Second Language), business and industry-specific English and all-purpose English too! This is also a communicative English class for developing speech. Here we will explore, vocabulary with nuances in meanings, synonyms, idioms, proverbs, some phrasal verb and prepositional verbs and all-around social English. The possibilities are endless for focusing on Public Speaking, Intonation and Voice Projection as well. This may be stimulated by interesting audios, short readers or videos. If there are topics you have in mind, we can additionally explore and incorporate this into your lessons. If you need to start speaking English, this class is for you. **NOTE: This class can also be offered and adjusted to accommodate multiple teenagers, adults or professionals as a group session, to make it more economical for you. It is advised that groups not exceed more than 5 persons per session. Charges apply to distances teacher must travel; especially, if out of standard office hours or on bank holidays!!

In my classes you will be deciding what to study, how to learn and in which way you want to approach singing and music in general. You will have the freedom to set up a plan and reach the designated goals with the help of my support. I will show you and teach you different singing techniques and guide you towards finding your personal and unique voice. I will adapt to your needs and will help you to achieve and surpass your goals! I strongly believe that the voice is an all-powerful instrument. It converts the invisible into the visible; it transforms emotions into sounds. The voice is subject to continuous evolution. It's a beautiful instrument that offers so many possibilities in terms of expansion.

Singing and guitar lessons in Amsterdam! Pop, Jazz, Brazilian and Samba!
Course I: Vocal Lessons The vocal lessons are designed on the student's needs, meaning that during the lessons we will work on whatever is there to improve in order to let you get the most from your singing voice! During the lessons we will learn exercises to warm up and cool down the voice (so a pre- and a post-workout); we will work on vocal technique, doing specific exercises based on specific needs; we will work on the repertoire, choosing appropriate songs according to your taste and to what suits your voice the best. But, most of all, we are going to have FUN while learning and improving! For the first lesson it would be ideal to bring one song that you know well and that you like to sing and preferably you sang already. You don't have any song yet? no problem at all, we will start with nice exercises and we can choose together a song to work on! Course II: Guitar lessons Have you ever wanted to improve your guitar skills with the goal of accompanying your voice while singing? During these lessons we can work together to find the best way to accompany yourself, using the guitar as a support for your beautiful voice! You will learn nice voicings, left and right hand technique and how to groove with nice rhythmical patterns.

Ableton Live - Getting your ideas down into a workable format to create a full working track! No prior knowledge needed!
I specialise in making music with the computer when there isn't a whole bunch of theory knowledge there. I can teach you to quickly and efficiently make that tune in your head into a reality, then turn that into a full track. If you have tried a few tutorials or courses and they didn't fit with you because of all the engineering jargon and theory based approach, this course is for you! I learnt to make music because I was hearing all these songs in my head but wasn't good enough at any instrument to materialise them. Ableton allowed me to hash through ideas, jam with them, then finally turn them into a full working track. I have also worked as a live and studio sound engineer so I do have the theoretical knowledge but can communicate in the language of learners from all different levels. I think there are a lot of people that just need to express what they have in there head and Ableton is by far the best program for that. It is very intuitive, "jammable" and so much fun! For me Ableton is my instrument but I also play the drums, piano and bass.

Classical & Pop Singing, Music reading and Music History
Hello all! I am a Mexican Musicologist and singer based in the Netherlands. I have been teaching for 10 years to different age ranges. //During the Singing lessons you will learn how to use your entire body for singing, voice exercises, repertoire and how to improve your music ear, it is basically a relaxing therapy, trust me. We will find together and based on your taste what songs you would like to work on! // The Music Theory lessons are for the ones who want to learn how to read music scores, no matter your level for sure I can keep challenging you with exercises and funny dynamics. Please be patient, to learn music language takes time... //In Music History I specialize in Classical repertoire, so why is Beethoven so good? Why is Mozart so famous around the world? what should you 'listen' when you listen academic music? Adding to this I also compare the music development with other arts and movements, so bring enough paper and pens for this lesson!

Abigaël
Singing lessons for anyone who would like to sing and understand more about music theory
Do you want to learn to develop your voice in your own way? Pure singing is recognizing tones and also putting your soul into them. Vocals are beautiful, pure and unique. I really want to help you discover what your voice can do. I also have a lot of knowledge of music theory and I can accompany you on Piano or Guitar. I myself sang for 10 years in the National Children's Choir and performed, for example, in the Royal Concertgebouw of Amsterdam or the Concertgebouw on the IJ. Currently I write my own music and improvise a lot with my band. Would you like to develop your singing voice more? Then you've come to the right place!

Music Production and Theory: Everything you need to know.
My name is Marco, and I am an Italian composer and sound designer working and living in Amsterdam. I studied Classical and Experimental Composition at the Conservatory, and then Communication Sciences and Technologies, and Sound Design at the University. After that, I spent the last 8 years producing music and sounds for advertisement, short movies, tv shows, documentaries, theatre, art installations, and so on. This class starts with my experience, but I really want the students to build their own personalized plan, choosing on which of these areas to focus on: -Film Scoring -Sound Design -Music Theory -Arranging for Orchestra -Solfège -Introduction to Piano -Introduction to Music Softwares (DAWs) and Plugins -Electronic Music and Beats Production If you need to take lessons at certain times excluded from my timetable feel free to contact me anyways and let's see what we can arrange. Hope to hear from you soon! Cheers :)
