Are you new in Belgium? Or do you have trouble with the Dutch language? Don't worry, you've come to the right place! It is with great pleasure that I give tutoring for the Dutch language, with the aim of being able to communicate fluently and to start a conversation with Dutch speakers. To achieve this goal, it is important to master the basics: grammar, vocabulary, reading, speaking and writing. We will practice on this together. To keep the lessons fun and effective, I integrate AI technology for extra personalized feedback, progress reporting and grammar testing. In addition, I often recommend books and songs for your free time, so that you stay in touch with the French language on a daily basis, not only during tutoring or at school.

If your child is having difficulties in school, I would love to be able to help them overcome them. I had the opportunity to work in several non-profit organizations (Schola ULB, Youth Club, CIFA, ABEF) where I helped young adolescents to understand their subject in French, English and Dutch. I also helped them prepare for their exams, including the CEB and CE1D. We will work together on their lessons, we will review the vocabulary and grammar they need to know and we will work on their difficulties in order to overcome them. In view of the current situation, I teach only online.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

Teaching children is almost "an art" Not everyone can put themselves in the mind of a child while that is so important during a lesson! I teach in a playful way, where they learn without them really noticing it. I do this through pictures, videos, various materials that I use during the lesson and also songs that we practice and sing together. Curious, come take a look and see if your child likes it! I am a very experienced teacher in Dutch as a second language. I love working with people from other countries because it widens my view and apart from teaching you a new language, I will learn from you about new cultures. For me, learning a new language is first of all learning to get around in daily life. So, a beginners course will always start with this basic information: introducing yourself; making appointments with the dentist, hairdresser, and so on; shopping; going to a restaurant; etc. On an intermediate level, we will work on your speaking skills: having a conversation with your colleagues about your weekend, reading a newspaper article and talk about it; talking about your hobbies, etc. With advanced students we can work on whatever field they need; for example work or other things that are important for you.

Are you preparing for the civic integration exam/ het inburgeringsexamen? I would be happy to help you pass the exam successfully. We will use practice exams to get you more comfortable with the questions and I'll give you tips. We will also look into the grammar points that are necessary for the exam. I teach Dutch to children, adapted to the level of the child, the age and the goals that wish to be achieved. The lessons can be given entirely in Dutch, or with explanations and translations in English where necessary (if the child speaks English). With young children I often use cheerful images, games and songs to learn the language in a playful way. From experience, this also works fine online, via video calls.
