I am Cèlia, a Catalan cellist living in Antwerp. I studied my bachelor's degree at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium and my master's degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen. I offer cello and music theory lessons for all levels. I have several years of experience teaching children and adults in individual and group lessons. I adapt the content of the lessons to the level, needs and goals of each student. I am a very enthusiastic person who likes working with people and making music. I speak Catalan, Spanish, English and a basic level of Dutch.

Currently I am studying composition and music theory at the Royal conservatory of Antwerp. I have been playing guitar for more than 15 years and I have participated in music bands and live shows. I am also working on electronic music through my laptop and hardware devices (synths, drum machines etc) I would be happy to teach you how to play the guitar, music theory tips and some basic production skills! In the beginning we will work on your favourite songs. At some point you will be able to make your own songs and you will have the opportunity to record your ideas and share them to the public! For the super young ones: We will start with easy tunes and then, we will work on your favourite songs! - It is never too early or too late to learn an instrument! - Music theory is a very important tool to go further in playing, don't be scared of it. Teaching is a wonderful way to build peoples lives and to have the opportunity and be part of this process is what I truly enjoy. I have taught people of all ages in the past and teaching in such a diverse environment has enabled me to be an inclusive thinker and approach each unique situation skillfully.

In my class, I teach piano in a way that allows you to make progress on your own. "Don't give a man a fish, instead teach him how to fish," is the idea here. My methods include, besides basics, approaches to expressing your own musicality, stable memorization, practice habits and efficiency, technical ease, focus exercises, body awareness, and stage fright. Hence, I am best suited for intermediate and advanced students that have the desire to either study piano on a collegiate level or make significant improvements for themselves. I would like to add at this point that I have a special affinity for the concert etudes by Frédéric Chopin. However, I am perfectly happy to start with students from the very beginning as well and regardless, I will adjust to my student's needs upon mutual agreement. My free times that I listed as available are a rough estimate, lesson times are normally negotiable.

SKYPE LESSONS I can give lessons to players who already have some foundation and would like to improve or learn new techniques. I prefer a relaxed teaching approach tailored the player's individual interests. I play metal, rock, blues and some classical and flamenco. I can help you learn your favorite licks, solos and explain theory if interested. We can go over techniques: • Alternate picking • Economy picking • Legato • Sweep picking • tapping • vibrato & bending There is no strict structure. Lessons are flexible and can be arranged on an ad-hoc basis.

In my course I'm offering to share my knowledge and passion with you, whether your preference lies with classical or otherwise. I work best with more advanced students to be able to go more in depth but would be happy to welcome any level of playing in my class. In a way I'd like to think that everything is in connection with everything else. A musician is not only a musician, but also a painter, poet, dancer (though in my case that last one can't be taken literally) and even a scientist. Why do I say this? A few years ago I decided to go for a life as a professional musician and enrolled at a conservatory. This year I completed my Master of Music at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. I have been teaching guitar for several years now. I look forward to meeting my students every week. Few things are more fun than watching someone discover music and get so much fun out of it! I have been learning the violin and piano since 5 years old, and am currently taking a bachelor in Music Performance in Violin, in the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Students of any age are welcome, and I have special experience with beginner and younger students, having given a lot of lessons of piano and music theory. I teach in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and basic Dutch. The individual violin and piano lessons are personalized and tailored to the progress and learning ability of each student. Emphasis is placed on developing good posture and ease of movements at the early stage.
