Drums and Piano (classical & pop/rock) Lessons for beginners of all ages

Currently I am studying composition and music theory at the Royal conservatory of Antwerp. I have been playing guitar for more than 15 years and I have participated in music bands and live shows. I am also working on electronic music through my laptop and hardware devices (synths, drum machines etc) I would be happy to teach you how to play the guitar, music theory tips and some basic production skills! In the beginning we will work on your favourite songs. At some point you will be able to make your own songs and you will have the opportunity to record your ideas and share them to the public! For the super young ones: We will start with easy tunes and then, we will work on your favourite songs! - It is never too early or too late to learn an instrument! - Music theory is a very important tool to go further in playing, don't be scared of it. You can do it! -Guitar techniques to apply to your playing :) - Interested in making your own music? I will help you to do it! Get your music online and don’t be afraid to share it! Besides teaching all the important aspects of piano playing, I would like to share my passion for music with my students and help them build a solid base in a fun and interactive way. In my class, I teach piano in a way that allows you to make progress on your own. "Don't give a man a fish, instead teach him how to fish," is the idea here. My methods include, besides basics, approaches to expressing your own musicality, stable memorization, practice habits and efficiency, technical ease, focus exercises, body awareness, and stage fright. Hence, I am best suited for intermediate and advanced students that have the desire to either study piano on a collegiate level or make significant improvements for themselves. I would like to add at this point that I have a special affinity for the concert etudes by Frédéric Chopin. However, I am perfectly happy to start with students from the very beginning as well and regardless, I will adjust to my student's needs upon mutual agreement. My free times that I listed as available are a rough estimate, lesson times are normally negotiable.

Cello Lessons for all levels: My main goal with my teaching is to share my passion for music with my students. I believe strongly that this passion leads to discipline and curiosity which benefit all other aspects of one's life. Whether or not my students decide to pursue music as their main profession, I believe they have much to gain from learning the cello. Besides the discpline one learns, Music-making in itself is fulfilling!! :) Conservatory Preparation: In my experience as a musician living and working in Belgium for the past 6 years, I have noticed a gap in the musical education of young Belgian music students transitioning from Music academies into Conservatories. Oftentimes, these young music students seeking to enter conservatories do not possess the necessary skill level to enter higher education in Music. Through my private teaching, I intend to bridge this gap by catering specifically (though not exclusively) to these students. I strongly believe that there is a huge demand for this type of teaching which I am capable to provide.

SKYPE LESSONS I can give lessons to players who already have some foundation and would like to improve or learn new techniques. I prefer a relaxed teaching approach tailored the player's individual interests. I play metal, rock, blues and some classical and flamenco. I can help you learn your favorite licks, solos and explain theory if interested. We can go over techniques: • Alternate picking • Economy picking • Legato • Sweep picking • tapping • vibrato & bending There is no strict structure. Lessons are flexible and can be arranged on an ad-hoc basis.

I have been learning the violin and piano since 5 years old, and am currently taking a bachelor in Music Performance in Violin, in the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Students of any age are welcome, and I have special experience with beginner and younger students, having given a lot of lessons of piano and music theory. I teach in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and basic Dutch. The individual violin and piano lessons are personalized and tailored to the progress and learning ability of each student. Emphasis is placed on developing good posture and ease of movements at the early stage. We will then continue to revise and enhance technique while taking on more challenging repertoire as they progress.
