I am a student studying classical viola in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I like to teach and share my passion of music amongst others. I can teach classical, pop and jazz music-whatever you find most suitable. For me the most important, is for you to come out of the lessons feeling inspired and enriched by music. If you are an absolute beginner, do not worry, we can find the best starting point for you.

I'm Georgian violinist, currently studying at the concervatory van Amsterdam. I have a lot of experience to play on stage as a soloist as well as in ensembles. I am winner of many national and international competitions. I have had many opportunities to get lessons from many well known teachers, musicians from all over the world. Currently, I get lessons from Prof. Ilya Grubert. It's my pleasure to share my knowledge to others and have a nice music atmosphere!

As a Cambridge University graduate in the Faculty of Education, I am delighted to have settled down in the Netherlands since September 2019. I started piano at the age of 5, and music has been an important part of my life ever since. Classically trained as a violinist, I picked up another instrument named Erhu (Chinese violin) and became a professional performer. I am experienced in teaching both children and adults, from different cultural backgrounds. Also, I have been actively involved in both Western and Chinese orchestra since high school. Thanks to my years of experience in being an orchestra member and soloist, I am also familiar with orchestral music. As a humble music therapist, I am passionate about music and believe in the power of music. I trust that music is in everybody and I respect every student's individuality and thus tailor my teaching methods to develop my students' full potential. I started teaching in 2009 and most students put their trust in me when they first decided to learn an instrument. I also enjoy exploring the world of music with students with learning disabilities. I am proud to say, my students, aged from 5 to 60, are enthusiastic in playing the instrument they have chosen and keen to improve their skills following my advice. I adopt a flexible approach in teaching - I believe every student is unique and my job is to develop the strengths and improve the weaknesses. I put a lot of emphasis on a solid foundation in my teaching. For young children, I tend to use a more interactive approach to explain complicated music theories, yet strict in the fundamentals such as posture and rhythm. For adults, I am always happy to discuss with them my lesson plan and choose the best exercises and songs that suit their music interests and needs. For my students who would like to take exams, I am happy to tailor the lessons based on their progress. I believe in the quality of learning and understanding rather than the number of pieces that they learn. Many beginners and their parents have put their trusts in me and achieved distinction in their first ABRSM exam. I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and a native speaker of Cantonese Chinese. However I will also take care of giving you the right basics which will stay with you and allow you to have even more fun while developing your technique further! Every age and level is welcome. Every student is very different, so I eagerly adjust my method to fit your needs.

Hello, everyone! I'm Val, and I'm a violinist. I also enjoy teaching and am ready to share my expertise of master the violin with both kids and adults 🎶 I began my music education in Minsk, and later, I earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in music at KULeuven in Belgium.

Was born to musician family and I am a violinist who is professionally trained for 18 years. Finished Master's Degree with a Cum Laude (distinction) at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, I can teach from the beginning to advanced level of violin playing. But most importantly, I will put my effort to make a musician out of you. I have so much stage experience as soloist and in orchestra around the world. During my education I had years of Music Theory lessons and I can teach and explain theoretical part of music also.

My violin lessons are shaped in relation to the student's age, goals and interests. I have experience in teaching to children as well as adults and I like the student to have fun while learning such a wonderful thing as playing music. If you are a beginner I'll start with the basic theory, but always in combination with practical approach on the instrument. I'm mostly working with classical music, but I'm also into other genres and I'm very open to help you in any way I can. I can teach in english and in Italian (working on the dutch!) and I can't provide the violin, but I can give some suggestions about where and how to find it. Please contact me if interested!

I’m Francisca, from Portugal, and I’m taking my bachelor in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I started my music lessons when I was still a baby, going to music for babies lessons! Later, when I was three years old I was very interested in playing the violin and at six years old decided to change to viola! Having the opportunity to share my passion for music with someone it is something very grateful for me!!

Greetings! I am a graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I also completed a Diploma in Music Education and Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music before coming to The Netherlands. I have had lots of experience teaching in schools and privately, and I get so much joy teaching people and helping them learn an instrument. My main goal as a teacher is to help students find their passion and love for music and for playing an instrument. I am also very practical in my approach to teaching, always trying to make things as clear as possible for each and every student to understand. I have plenty of experience teaching people of all ages. I also have a good knowledge of individual personalities and temperament which helps me to tailor the lesson to suit you individually. When teaching young children, I find that using various different games with and without the instrument helps a lot with their understanding and development. This resonates well with their impressive abilities to play for many hours every day - something which I think is very important for young children to make the most of while they have it. My understanding of the lessons is that every student should come out with the best feeling of wanting to improve their playing, and I always try to motivate every student in whichever way works best for them. I am also very open to using different approaches when it is not working for the student, and I am known to listen very well to feedback like this. I am flexible with the styles of music I teach and have experience in many different genres. If you need some ideas, together we can find the music that suits you best. The majority of students who start out do so on the violin, and some change to viola some time later. Some students who begin their musical journey on the violin go on to play not only viola but other stringed instruments such as cello and double bass if they grow away from the violin at any stage - so choosing violin in the beginning will certainly give you the most options.

In my teaching method, I like to find a personal approach for every new student. I'm passionate about sharing insights into ergonomics, ensuring my students can play comfortably. I organize the lessons around my students' favorite music, arranging songs and pieces that they love to match their level and technical needs. I want my students to enjoy music and have fun with it! Private lessons for beginners to advanced level of violin playing. All ages are welcome. I am a professionally trained teacher and violinist for almost two decades. My lessons are given in English, Spanish and (soon) Dutch and French. My teaching method is variable depending on the students' needs, but the goal is shared: to make a great musician and qualified violinist out of the pupil. I work on both technical and musical aspects from a (very) consciously prepared healthy and enjoyable perspective. Particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones! I pay special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of my students. I also give some additional tools applicable to the violin playing which includes: Introduction to Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Body & Mind. All the basic theory is taught too. Occasionally, there are student concerts and collaborations with other teachers. (These may include some teachers from the Sweelinck Academy or the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and more). From among the required tools for my lessons are: a violin and a bow, score and books purchases when necessary, and, from time to time, meetings with the parents. On occasion, I use digital tools like phone/tablet apps. I can teach in various places near or in the centre of Amsterdam, or, depending on the need, I can move to pretty much wherever in The Netherlands. About the homework, I send it to the students on a weekly basis and encourage them to participate on competitions and summer music courses. As always, this is conditional on the pupil's stage.

Violin is a fantastic instrument to learn and to explore the music it's written for it! Every level is acceptable for my lessons and, most of all, I want that the student is enjoying and feeling an improvement over the weeks. I'm a Master student at Conservatorium van Amsterdam, receiving highest level education both in the Netherlands and in Italy. My career allows me to travel around Europe with concerts, mostly as a soloist and as a chamber musician, but also as a concertmaster in various orchestras. With this class I offer to pass on my knowledge and experiences to all of those who want to learn. My name is Lucas and I am 22 years old. I currently have a grade 8 in violin with the ABRSM curriculum, and have been playing the violin for over 15 years. While learning the violin, I have always been taught in a private manner, with a teacher just to myself so I would know exactly what kind of atmosphere you would need to learn quickly. The lessons I would provide are for any level of students, from a person that is just beginning or is maybe just interested in playing the violin to a bit more experienced players that are looking to improve their skills. I will make sure that you always have some work to do between lessons so that you can also improve your skills on your own and show me what you have learnt or practiced in between our lessons.
