Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not. I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. My teaching method developed during 20 years of experience and thanks to my studies of Music Pedagogy and Piano Teaching during my Master in Piano at Livorno's Conservatory. I am currently a piano teacher in a British School and I prepared several students for ABRSM and Trinity College exams. As a private piano teacher, I work preferably in my studio, on a beautiful grand piano Yamaha, but, if not too far, I am also available for lessons at the student's house. My teaching is adapted to the skills and goals of each student. With beginning children, I aim at a full musical development of the student (not just playing notes, but feeling the rhythm, singing, expressing emotions through free improvisation); technically I don't work only at the finger position, but at the organic interaction arm-wrist-fingers, through simple exercises. With adult or advanced students, I observe them, in order to suggest which type of repertory to work together, and which aspects of technique might still need an improvement. I teach in a classical way, through the learning of notes, harmony and written music, but I teach also how to play songs with only chord symbols, and blues improvisation at a basic level. Both with children and adults I aim at creating a joyful experience during the lesson, in which focus is gained in a playful way, finding each time the best practicing solutions to technical and musical difficulties. In this way, practicing at home becomes not another heavy duty to add to an already busy schedule, but repeating a creative, searching experience, that is never the same. Books: the use of a method is often suggested in the first years. Later I advice classical pieces to be studied. Also pop or rock songs that the student would like to perform are well accepted, if I think the student can afford them.

As a Cambridge University graduate in the Faculty of Education, I am delighted to have settled down in the Netherlands since September 2019. I started piano at the age of 5, and music has been an important part of my life ever since. Classically trained as a pianist and violinist, I picked up another instrument named Erhu (Chinese violin) and became a professional performer. I am experienced in teaching both children and adults, from different cultural backgrounds. Also, I have been actively involved in both Western and Chinese orchestra since high school. Thanks to my years of experience in being an orchestra member and soloist, I am also familiar with orchestral music. As a humble music therapist, I am passionate about music and believe in the power of music. I trust that music is in everybody and I respect every student's individuality and thus tailor my teaching methods to develop my students' full potential. I started teaching in 2009 and most students put their trust in me when they first decided to learn an instrument. I also enjoy exploring the world of music with students with learning disabilities. Hello there! My name is Antek and i'm a cellist and composer who graduated from Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a cellist I've had the pleasure and honour of collaborating with renowned artists such as Hans Zimmer, being part of his 2022 European Tour Orchestra, touring over 15 countries and playing in locations such as London's O2 Arena or Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. I am now mainly active as a performer of contemporary/experimental music, as well as classical music, freelancing in various orchestras in the Netherlands, having played in venues such as Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Concertgebouw or TivoliVredenburg. I offer cello lessons, regardless of the level - whether you are a curious beginner or more advanced player, i'm happy to collaborate and share my knowledge and experience with you, as well as inspire your creativity regarding both playing the right notes, and making artistic choices.
