SandhyaLearn French in Amsterdam (Levels A1 - C1), private and group
I can offer a learning experience (content and pace) that is tailored to your needs - school work, grammar, preparation for DELF and DALF tests or just to have conversations. We can follow our lessons in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the various joys of learning a language. It is not just about learning conjugations by heart!
AnneLearn French with a native speaker, professional teacher graduated from The Sorbonne
My belief is that each student is different and requires a tailor made lesson to meet that student’s needs and goals. Every class is personalised for your own profile and is adapted as needed. I give priority to conversation, convinced that even from the very first day, one can start to communicate in the new language and thus gain confidence to go on.
I base my courses on the four essential competencies: speaking, listening, writing and reading, always focusing on your personal goals and motivation. I progressively integrate phonetics, grammar, conjugation, vocabulary in the courses which always include practical exercises. You will also learn a lot about the culture as it is deeply linked to the language.
The pedagogic materials I choose are mostly created for native speakers : texts from literature, newspapers, radio podcasts, videos, songs.... Indeed, I am convinced that the learning process has to tackle « real subjects », as languages are alive and constantly changing. My main challenge is to help the learners to be able to « think » in the second language. The debate is the heart of my classroom, but always in a playful way, through many role games — for me learning a language is first and foremost a great joy !
BartDutch lessons for all levels - Efficient and fun learning
Hi! My name is Bart, I am 31 years old, live in Amsterdam and I'm a Dutch (advanced) native speaker and teacher. Having lived in several countries I know what it's like to learn a foreign language and how challenging this can be. Especially Dutch, with it's unusual pronounciations and irregular forms and exceptions (and 'de and het'). During our lessons I will explain how to deal with these kind of issues and simplify them for you.
I offer teaching for:
- A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 exams (including 'INBURGERINGSCURSUS')
- Dutch for professionals - Private and in-company
- Improving Dutch for OTHER REASONS
(Dutch family, just to make conversation, to develop practical/social
language skills etc.)
How I teach:
1 - Your level and objective(s)
At the start we will discuss your level and objectives. This way I can efficiently give you the help that you need. The levels I teach:
2 - Open communication
I have an open way of teaching in which I encourage students to keep telling me what their difficulties are or where they would like to improve. In my experience this saves a lot of time and also makes the lessons more fun.
3 - Simplify instead of complicate
I am good at listening and understanding why students are having difficulties with certain issues. This way I can simplify the issue and teach you Dutch in an easy and understandable way.
4 - Involved
I am involved with my students' objectives and am constantly looking for the best and most efficient way to make progress.
CharlieFrench course by a native speaker : learn french through different approaches
The purpose of this class is to learn french through the french culture and oral conversation mostly. There will be different approaches to learning french : activities related to the french culture (cooking crêpes,...) a more conventional method of learning (for grammar for example, if needed), oral conversation (about actuality, the culture, art,...), and possibly the study of books, texts, movies in french.
During the class I will mostly speak french, and I consider oral conversation a very important part of the class.
If you feel the need to learn even more, I will also give homework such as specific grammar exercises, and I will recommend to you some books to read in french or movies to watch depending on your interests.

FrancescoItalian / French course: beginner, intermediate, advanced
My name is Francesco, I am Italian but I live in France, in Aix-en-Provence, for 3 years. I had my double baccalaureate in French and Italian (Esabac class, Franco-Italian course at the Lycée Dumont d'Urville) last year.
Now I'm studying history and philosophy at the University of Aix-Marseille.
Since the university leaves us 4 months of vacation during the summer, I decided to land in Amsterdam to find a job but at the same time I am passionate about language exchanges.
That's why I offer you two types of courses:
- Language Exchange: I can exchange in Italian, French and Spanish. You in the language you want (English, Dutch or others)
- Italian and / or French courses: I will be your "teacher". I will help you improve your practical skills step by step.
I specify that the word "professor" is ambiguous: it reminds us sometimes of a distant, cold, formal relationship. I would rather become your friend "in languages": this is also the best way to learn a language. Feel comfortable, light, able to overcome the fear of not having full control over our word.
Do not hesitate to contact me, together we can discover a little bit these Latin languages so warm and "musical". : D
See you soon!!!

MarcelLearning french language through different cultural approaches
This class aims to teach french language through different forms of study rather than a classic academic approach to language learning.
For example those methods can be expressed in oral conversations, study of texts, art pieces, or movies in french, and of course more conventional teaching. I believe that a language is learnt better in it's cultural context and applications rather than though a decontextualized approach. If you are interested don't hesitate to ask any question.
