I can teach Bollywood and Commercial dances to beginners but I can also teach more complex, intermediate-level Bollywood or Commercial choreographies to those looking for something more challenging. My aim as a dance teacher will be to help you achieve your goals, and customize the classes according to your dance level, and preferences whilst helping you learn the fundamentals of musicality, rhythm, technique and performance in dance. Of course, most importantly, for all of you have to fun! Bollywood dance is an expressive and fun style of dance that originated in India and is usually performed in Hindi films. It is popular worldwide, including a mix of the vibrant circle Garba dance, energetic and dynamic Bhangra dance as well as more traditional elegant and beautiful Bharatnatyam and Kathak forms of dances. Commercial dance is a universal style of dance, performed in music videos, for concerts, musicals or films. It includes a mixture of various styles: jazz, hip-hop, locking, popping, street dance, jazz, contemporary and more. Online Bharatanatyam Indian Classical Dance Classes
Narthana Vihar aims at developing completely professional bharatanatyam dancers. The course starts from the scratch. Classes commence during the weekends. Students across all countries are welcome and timings will be fixed according to their respective time zones. Our teachers have 13+ years of experiences and are direct disciples of Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. The curriculum consists of complete Natya Sastra (2000 year old scripture) content taught in a very easy and understandable manner. Course completion certification will be provided after each level.
Bollywood Dance and Body Conditioning - Fun, interactive sessions
I specialize in Bollywood dance and I am a trained Indian classical dancer (Bhartanatyam). I started dancing at the age of 3. I received a dance scholarship at the Terence Lewis Dance Company where I trained in ballet basics, jazz, contemporary, basic ballroom and nutrition. My class is ideal for those wanting to learn the vibrant Indian dance but are also interested in body conditioning. Bollywood choreographies will often be fused with other dance forms from India like Garba, Bangra, Lavani. In a 60 mins class: 15 mins will be given to body conditioning and remaining 45 mins for dance In a 90 mins class: 30 mins will be given to body conditioning and balance 1 hour for dance Some sessions students will be encouraged to come up with their own short choreography.

It could either be a highly energetic choreography or a slow graceful one; depending on the songs selected. Bharatnatyam is structured according to the examinations conducted by the University. It typically takes about 6-7 years to complete the examinations. You can learn it for fun as well without actually wanting to go through exams. It has immense health benefits and good cardio workout. Bollywood, on the other hand, is energetic and fun-filled and can be learnt one song at a time. I usually assess the ability of the student to grasp the movements and teach accordingly. It can take anywhere between 2 weeks to 4 months to learn a complete Bollywood dance item.
