I am a music producer and film score composer from London living in Berlin. I currently tutor privately and teach at the Electronic Music School Berlin. I have taught everyone from complete beginners with no music theory knowledge, to experienced DJ's trying to up their game. I am currently preparing to teach a masterclass at my school that will cover advanced mixing, mastering and sound design. I work in Ableton (and occasionally Pro Tools), and I have made or engineered everything from industrial techno to pop. As such, I am extremely flexible and can focus exclusively on what you are aiming to learn, regardless of what genre or subgenre you want to make. My approach is dynamic and changes depending on every student, but my aim is the same across all levels and types: to get you to love music production. I cover everything from -How to start your track -How to make more than just loops -Sampling -Sound synthesis -Basic beat creation -Mixing -Use of effects -Plugins ...and for the more advanced students -Multiband mixing tools -Mastering -Using sends as mixing tools -advanced sound synthesis If you are a beginner - within a few months of me teaching you, you will start to have a complete control of your DAW. More about me: I have worked in the music production field for the last 6 years. I have a recording engineering certificate from UCLA in California. I have scored two award winning short films, am currently signed to Subsoul Recordings and have ghost produced for over 20 artists, mainly in house and techno. I managed an artist with 10k+ followers on soundcloud and currently manage a deep house producer signed to Crosswalk Records.

Mark - Berlin$45.16
Trusted teacher: Teaching is something I really enjoy. To impart knowledge to a student requires a level of understanding deeper than that of the ordinary performer, and I enjoy the challenge of expressing ideas in a personal way that is relevant to each student. To watch someone's love of music grow as a result of playing the piano is highly rewarding, and something I put a strong focus on. If you can learn to have fun at the piano and nurture your love of music it will become something truly life-affirming. ... Reviews from my students: "Mark is an incredibly gifted teacher and pianist. Being his student is always a pleasure, with a perfect balance of fun and discipline" "I’m really satisfied, by both your technical knowledge and teaching skills" "I absolutely love our lessons. I love it that you ask me how I am doing and adjust the lessons based on how I feel, that sometimes you don't push me too hard, but sometimes you do and I am grateful for this, that you have a certain trust in me and say that I will be able to play some pieces which gives me confidence. Lastly and most importantly, the myriad of thoughts that I always have in my head abandons me during our lessons, and this is such a fantastic feeling for which I am grateful too. Don't know what you could improve really" ... About my performing career: Mark is a pianist and composer from the UK, based in Berlin and working in the fields of jazz and improvised music. He is a Yamaha Jazz Scholar and Peter Whittingham Award winner and has performed his music and others at many prominent venues across Europe, including for BBC Radio 3 at the Late Night Proms. Mark works as a leader and sideman in diverse artistic projects internationally, notably his large ensemble A Moveable Feast, Book of Haikus, Hayden Prosser’s Tether, a freely improvised solo project and countless other collaborative settings across Europe. He has also performed classical works including Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. Mark owes a great deal to the many extraordinary musicians and creative minds he was fortunate to encounter during his conservatoire studies in Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam and Birmingham - John Taylor, Greg Cohen, Søren Kjærgaard and Harmen Fraanje to name just a few. PRESS: “Stupendously talented” “A talented newcomer” "Mark is an exceptionally gifted pianist and composer, and a remarkable improviser" "A new voice in jazz ... both expressive and innovative ... a musical vision that is quirky, yet positively original" “Ambition to match his talent ... a striking writer and orchestrator as well as a fine keyboard player" "A musician with a very bright future indeed" "Much has been written about Mark. All of it positive, all of it justified ... It is only a matter of time before he becomes a household name ... hearing Mark live should be a priority" "Hugely talented ... technically gifted ... One of the real emerging talents of the UK jazz scene" "Mark has increasingly been making waves with his singular and adventurous approach to music-making" "A very great and mature talent"

Jack
Jack is a very nice teacher. He explains and teach you in a nice and very understandable way. He speaks german as well as English so if you don’t know german it’s also a very good fit. And he has piano at home too, which is good so you don’t need to buy piano in the beginning of your lessons. Fully recommend, and thanks for teaching me :)
