I have lived 9 years of my life outside of Hungary out of which 4 years were in China and 5 years were in Canada. I got to experience what it is like to move from one culture to another and also had the opportunity to experience different educational systems. Hungarian is my native language but I learned to read and write in English sooner than in Hungarian. My entire life I have enjoyed working with people and since the beginning of my adult years that passion has taken form in teaching. I have 9 years of teaching experience at every level and almost every age starting from early elementary school to the elderly. I have taught and am teaching staff and management of multiple companies in Budapest, however I did teach English in a Hungarian elementary school for 2 years as well. Currently, next to the cooperation with companies I greatly enjoy having private lessons with students from all walks of life. I offer classes which are specifically designed for the needs of each student. This can mean that we work on how to have meaningful conversations at a workplace or simply to catch up with basic English for school. If you have some trouble reading this text we can work on your grammar or vocabulary too! Our goal will be to meet your needs! If you would like to study with a few friends we can make that happen too! Location and Time: Classes can be held online, in person at your place or in a coffee shop wich suits us both. I am enthusiastic and passionate about the English language. I enjoy teaching through use of texts, literature and films. Students learn to use critical thinking skills. They improve their reading comprehension skills as well as writing and speaking. I obtained a BA in English literature and a PGCE. Literature was my first choice to study and the PGCE enabled me to hone my classroom management skills by using differentiated learning strategies and using both summative and formative assessment techniques. I have use a variety of imaginative resources which are content based and encourage students to develop themselves as they study and participate in active lessons aimed at increasing their motivation and participation. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching and tutoring students of English. I enjoy planning lessons and content around individual needs and assessment. I am highly experienced in assessing and catering to different types of learners. I use innovative methods including active learning, positive reinforcement, flipped teaching strategies and project-based learning. My students learn at their own pace and achieve their own learning goals corresponding to the goals that I have set for them. This is a Literature based English course most suited for high school students with an intermediate to advanced level of preexisting English knowledge; students pursuing university options abroad or English-teaching universities nationally will find this course especially useful. This program is based on the teaching practices and curriculum of American secondary school language education. Its aims are to strengthen reading comprehension ability, develop critical thinking skills, improve expression in a foreign language and encourage deeper analysis, with a secondary focus on vocabulary expansion and grammar correction. Students will be asked to complete reading and writing assignments at home followed by an in-depth discussion of the material and further exercises during the lesson. If a student regularly fails to complete given homework or is unwilling to learn, I will not be continuing with lessons. This class is also available for University students looking to perfect their grasp of the English language, and can easily be adjusted for 7th and 8th grade levels, given students can express themselves somewhat comfortably in English. About me: Hello, I am an American-born bi-native speaker of both English and Turkish. I have received my primary and secondary education in the USA. Currently, I reside in Istanbul while I attend Boğaziçi University. I have 3 years of intermittent experience tutoring children of all ages in English; I also have experienced first-hand the education system of an English-speaking country and the application process, i.e. what Universities expect from applicants. I noticed that the current education system favors rote memorization and quantitative skills but tends to overlook skills such as the analysis of a text and the presentation of that analysis that admissions offices of universities abroad and professors teaching at esteemed schools nationally look for. When I realized this deficiency I also realized I had the skills and experience to close this gap for motivated, aspiring academics who want to broaden their horizons both nationally and internationally. The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

I'm going to continue the course with him until I reach mastery in my desired language, he can easily adapt to my understanding and corrects me when needed while having fun teaching me. Excellent English teacher for pre-schoolers. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. She has built a great bond with my daughter through creative & role playing. Learning the alphabet, phonics and writing /reading has been so much fun with her! My daughter can now read & write basic words in english.
