The violin is an enjoyable instrument to learn from. It has seen many uses within all genres of music. To learn the techniques might seem redundant, but patients and practice go a long way. Here you will be learning about tips, guidance and general skills vital to improve technique and to become comfortable with playing the violin. Music theory will be somewhat incorporated into the lessons, giving better understanding of the structure of the music. Body posture is another critical element to play the violin. Slouching causes tension and harder playing level. By readjusting and getting in the correct posture, it will cover the majority of finger positions, shifting, and performance to play violin efficiently. I focus on classical style violin, but I’m also exposing myself towards gypsy jazz, jazz, klezmer, folk, bluegrass, and world music. If you have a song that you have a desire to play, please let me know.
