Latin was popular a thousand years ago, French - a couple centuries ago, English is the language of the 21st century! We'll work on Speaking and Writing skills, and, of course, Grammar. For advanced learners I fancy such books as Destination and Grammar in Use (we won't be restrained by just these, though). With beginners we'll be maintaining a decent active vocabulary.

Russian is quite difficult compared to other languages. Although, that doesn't mean it's impossible to learn. With beginners we will work on basic rules, practice the most commonly used vocabulary and pronunciation. Advanced students will focus on Grammar, which is very neatly collected in VLLeonovich's book (one of the best books for school students in preparation for university level). Also, Russian literature and the ability to analyze it are of great importance.

In terms of vocabulary, I had a good foundation through Duolingo. Decided to take one-to-one lessons with Palina to also improve grammar and listening and speaking skills. Now at lesson 4 and very happy with my choice :).
After saying hello (in Russian of course) the lesson starts with a listening or speaking practice, followed by a short repetition of the grammar rule of the previous lesson and the introduction of a new grammar rule. She's a really warm person, and a good teacher with lots of patience.
Sadly for me the "Online" schedule doesn't work out, for me to pick a language up properly i need to have someone physical in front of me.
But that is just me. I would highly recommend to take lessons from her, she's a very good teacher and very friendly
