I have designed this class to help students that struggle with maths. My outcome for my students is for them to come out of my lessons confident and ready to give maths another chance. I will keep them challenged, but not overwhelmed. I will provide my student with homework to give them a refresher of what we learned and a periodic progress report for parents. My GCSE students will know how to approach different kinds of exam questions, how to prepare for an exam and they will learn how the grade boundary is set for the papers. My KS3 students will have a strong core in the basics of GCSE Maths to get them ready for the next level. I will also help primary students have strong fundamentals in the basics of maths and prepare them for the 11+ and SATS My lesson plan outline will be as below unless my student has something specific they want to work on: Starter activity - consolidation of previous learning Introduction and expected lesson outcomes Delivery and activites Assessment challenges to check learning Review of and assessment of planned outcomes – consolidation Pre lesson study activity /homework My preferred Exam board for GCSE is Edexcel. Before beginning regular sessions with a student, I would like to have a casual meeting to familiarise myself with their situation and needs and so we can get to know each other.
