Overview During my lessons you will study core aspects of hand technique and the motor skills required to execute your ideas on the drum-kit including: grip, motion, stickings, subdivisions, accents, ruffs, rolls, dynamic control and accents. You will also study core aspects of drum-kit technique and motor skills including: timekeeping, bass drum and Hi Hat technique, three and four-way co-ordination, sticking applications and dynamic control. Styles it's another important area you will cover during my lessons and it will involve analysing essential stylistic components of various mainstream genres, how to perform them authentically, and apply them creatively when writing parts. The techniques that contribute to a style are taught simultaneously where possible, allowing you to apply technical knowledge to performance and creative situations. Moreover, you will be advised on effective practice routines to maximise your potential and minimise any potential adverse health effects. Lesson Aims  Enable students to gain a firm grasp of essential techniques that apply to the instrument, and employ effective practice methods that maximise use of time and minimise risk of injury.  Enable students to become versatile performers.  Equip students with knowledge of a broad range of popular musical styles and related concepts/techniques.  To develop creativity via the awareness and application of key stylistic considerations.
