Trusted teacher: I was born in China with love and encouragement from my family and teachers. From an early age, my mom, dad, and brother told me many funny and famous stories and fairy tales about Chinese Culture. All of these beautiful and traditional histories teach me how to love and respect others, how to be brave, and how to persist in my passion. I love my country and its charming, traditional culture. I hope I can convey what I have learned to others someday. And then my dream comes true. Education I am studying at the Geneva Graduate Institute which is a famous university focusing on political research and analysis. Before studying in Geneva, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in Shandong Normal University(China). Experience 7-year working experience with teaching. Especially, after graduating from the university, I became a 2-year volunteer teacher in a remote village in China. What you can learn through my courses: - Learning with fun. I know it is not easy to study another language. But there are several ways to help you (your children) love to study Chinese, such as Picture Book Teaching, Chinese songs, or intriguing multimedia tools (movies and videos). -Specific teaching method for yourself. My past five-year working experience is to teach teachers how to improve their learning skills. One of the most important methods is to adjust and design the teaching method according to the ability and interest of each student. I will teach you (or your children) to study in an appropriate way through the pre-course testing, assignments, and interaction. -Chinese language and culture. China has a long history of 5,000 years, and there are so many histories, poems, and stories during the long period of time. You( or your children)can learn a lot about Chinese culture and local customs while studying Chinese. -Chinese certification(HSK). I can help you pass your HSK examination with my rich teaching experience. I am studying at the Geneva Graduate Institute now which is a famous university focusing on political research and analysis. It is my first time to study and live abroad. I believe this is a good way for me to learn and communicate with local people(you or your children). Trusted teacher: I offer you a German course that is not like the others. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Memorise the timetable. 2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods. Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude. I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. My modular programme can be adapted on a case-by-case basis. The converging point of these modules is your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life. What will not be covered in the course: learning lists of verbs; learning lists of nouns with articles; learning words with their translations; flashcards; doing school exercises; following the syllabus of a booklet; imposing the English grammar on the German language. What is particularly important to me: to motivate my student and to give him a learning rhythm; to encourage his creativity; to befriend him with the language; the letters and their sounds; to strengthen the memory by training the phonological loop; to teach blueprints instead of memorising sentences; to explain how the language works in order to make my student independent as quickly as possible; to eliminate common preconceptions, such as that 'der' would mean masculine and 'die' feminine, that the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, that verbs would be irregular, that declension would be random and therefore would have to be learnt with each verb...; to put practice at the centre and only deal with grammar where necessary. A first lesson will give you a sound idea of my pedagogy.

Hugh
Hugh is a teacher unlike anything I have ever experienced. He positively surprised me several times. The way of teaching is very impressive. From the first moment I felt at ease. I was quite insecure about my English language but Hugh helped me completely. In addition to improving my English language, Hugh has also taught me some great life lessons. What sets Hugh apart is not just his knowledge but his ability to connect with the student. His approachability and genuine concern for my understanding have created an atmosphere where I felt valued and encouraged. In addition, he was a fascinating motivator and a great source of inspiration, the perfect example of what an English teacher should be. It is clear that he has a lot of experience in everything that has to do with teaching. After every lesson I went home with a very good feeling. His teaching style is very excellent! I can highly recommend Hugh! I feel privileged to have had Hugh as my teacher, and I am grateful for the positive influence he had in improving my English language. Thank you Hugh, your dedication for me have not gone unnoticed and are deeply appreciated! Blue Skies!

Polyglot specialist with 9 years of experience. German in speed mode. Level A1 to C2. No school teaching. (Luxembourg)
Kevin
Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.

Ester
My private violin lesson with Ester was absolutely perfect. I had a privilege to hear Ester play her violin and she is so good- it is crazy to think I was able to learn from her. She is also such a good teacher. Full of knowlege and patience- which is, in my opinion, a rare combination. I had no prior musical education and this was my first real music lesson. Ester managed to teach me basic note reading, correct violin holding and even playing my first tunes. Her explainations are very clear and easy to understand. And her approach is very friendly. She is also a very nice person and easy to talk to. I wish we lived in the same city so I could keep studying playing violin with Ester- that's how good she is. Lidia
