Robotics & Arduino Tutor for Kids and Teens — Hands-On STEM Projects
From 27.59 $ /h
I offer one-to-one Robotics and Electronics tuition for kids, teenagers, GCSE, A-Level, and IB students who want to learn how robots, sensors, and microcontrollers actually work. Lessons are available online or in person around Birmingham.
What I cover:
Arduino programming and projects
Basic electronics: circuits, sensors, motors, LEDs
Introduction to robotics and automation
STEM coursework and school project support
GCSE, A-Level, and IB Design & Technology / Computing projects
Fun beginner builds: line-following robots, obstacle-avoiding cars, weather stations, smart home gadgets
How I teach:
I keep lessons hands-on and project-based, because kids learn best when they're building something they actually care about. We'll start with the basics — wiring up an LED, making a buzzer beep — and build up to fully working robots and gadgets. I'm patient with mistakes (they're part of the fun), and I explain everything in clear, simple language without dumbing it down.
This is perfect for parents whose children love technology, want to get ahead in STEM, or have a school project they need help with.
Send me a message and we can arrange a free 15-minute introductory chat to talk about your child's interests. No pressure, no commitment.

About Me
Hi, I'm Ali , a Birmingham-based tutor with an MSc in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Chester and a BSc in Engineering from the Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad. I have a strong academic background in mathematics, physics, programming, and engineering, and I've spent the last few years tutoring students across a wide range of levels — from GCSE pupils building confidence in their core subjects, all the way through to university students tackling advanced engineering and computer science modules.
Outside of tutoring, I work on personal engineering and software projects, including published research in deep learning. I genuinely love the subjects I teach, and I think that enthusiasm comes through in lessons students tell me they leave sessions feeling more confident and clearer about what to do next.
I'm patient, reliable, and easy to talk to. I understand that not every student learns the same way, and I take the time to figure out what actually works for each person I teach. Whether a student is anxious about an upcoming exam, stuck on a tricky topic, or just wants to get ahead, my goal is always the same: help them build real understanding and quiet confidence in their own ability.
I tutor both online and in person around Birmingham, and I'm happy to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.

Experience / Qualifications
I have several years of one-to-one tutoring experience across mathematics, physics, programming, and engineering subjects. Over that time I've worked with a wide range of students, including:
GCSE students preparing for Maths, Physics, and Computer Science exams across all major UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
A-Level students working through Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computing
University undergraduates studying engineering, computer science, and related subjects, including help with coursework, lab reports, dissertations, and final-year projects
Adult learners and career-changers who want to learn programming, Python, or machine learning from scratch
Younger students (ages 10–14) interested in coding, robotics, and STEM enrichment
My academic background sits in electronics and electrical engineering, which means I'm equally comfortable explaining the maths and physics behind a concept as I am helping a student write working code or debug a circuit. This crossover is particularly useful for engineering students who often need help bridging theory and practice.
I have published research in deep learning for image classification, with two accepted academic papers in international conferences. While I keep that side of my background mostly in the background of school-level tuition, it's directly relevant for university students working on AI, machine learning, or signal processing projects.

I offer one-to-one Electronics and Electrical Engineering tuition for university students, college students, and serious learners. Lessons are available online or in person around Birmingham.
What I cover:
Circuit analysis (DC and AC, Kirchhoff's laws, Thevenin / Norton, op-amps)
Digital electronics and logic design
Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
Control systems (Laplace, transfer functions, stability, frequency response)
Embedded systems and microcontroller basics
Power electronics fundamentals
University coursework, lab reports, dissertation and project support
Exam preparation for engineering modules
How I teach:
I start by figuring out exactly which concepts are tripping you up — most students are stuck on one or two key ideas, and once those click, everything else falls into place. I use plenty of worked examples, real circuit diagrams, and clear explanations of the maths behind each topic. For project and dissertation work, I can help you plan, debug, and present your work properly.
If you're struggling with an engineering module, preparing for exams, or working on a final-year project, I can help you turn confusion into confidence.

I offer one-to-one Maths tuition for GCSE, A-Level, and university students, both online and in person around Birmingham. Whether your child is struggling with the basics, preparing for upcoming exams, or aiming for top grades, I tailor every lesson to where they actually are — not where a textbook assumes they should be.
What I cover:
GCSE Maths (all exam boards — AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
A-Level Maths and Further Maths
University-level Maths for engineering and science students
Specific topics: algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, mechanics, logic
How I teach:
I break difficult concepts down into simple steps, use plenty of worked examples, and give students clear practice between sessions. I'm patient with mistakes, encouraging when things feel hard, and honest about what needs work. Lessons are structured but relaxed students should feel comfortable asking "silly" questions, because those are usually the most important ones.
Exam season is right now, so if your child has GCSEs or A-Levels coming up, the next few weeks are the most important time to get focused support. I have limited slots available and can usually start within a few days.
