I have been successfully playing jazz in solo and band projects for over 20 years, have vast recording experience and academic degree in jazz production and have been teaching jazz guitar for over a decade. From the basics to learning how to transcribe licks from your favorite guitar players as a great way to expand your jazz vocabulary and learn the jazz language, learning guitar scales that you’ll need to know to get you started improvising, such as the major scale, the pentatonic and blues scales, the seven guitar modes, chord scales, the diminished scale, the altered scale, and many more, and of course learning and playing some jazz standards to bring all the technical material you have studied, such as chords, scales, arpeggios, and voice leading, together and actually start playing music.
