Cello and/or Music Theory lessons (analysis, solfege, harmony)

I am a professional musician who finished his masters studies in 2020 in Codarts, Rotterdam. Lessons are intended for all levels, I can adapt my teaching to the student needs. My career is basically classical, but I am open to different styles so if you are interested on (for example) pop, jazz or rock we can just focus on what do you want to learn in order to make Theory become more practical.

Extra information

If you are interested on Music Theory, a keyboard or a guitar would be helpful, but is not necessary, I can use my cello for the explanations.

Cello lessons. The best instrument you can choose!
Enjoying learning music is the most important thing for me. Wether you are studying music as a hobbie, or you are preparing your professional career, we will focus on being the most efficient and learning as much as possible, while having a good time. Of course learning music requires discipline and hard work, but it can be done in an interesting and satisfactory way. Flexibility is my main feature: my goal is to give you what you need through a dinamic method that adjusts to your personality and specific way of learning. I offer one-to-one lessons as well as group lessons for people of all ages. Duration of the lesson is flexible and it is also possible to combine the content of the lessons between cello, piano and music theory. We can speak in English, German or Spanish (and little by little more Dutch as I am learning) and the lessons can be booked on the go or set in advance. In all lessons, music theory will be present in a natural and organic way. Contact me if you are interested! :)

Understand What You Play on the Guitar - Harmony,Theory and Music on the fretboard
The internet is full of videos and tutorials about songs, chords, scales, licks and even music theory. But if you're tired of playing that song, or that lick, without being able to change it, then this class is for you. Before I entered the conservatory, I could never really understand what I was playing. And that was preventing me from expressing my musicality. By this I mean, I wasn't able to change a chord, or do a variation on a melody, or even creating an Intro. And this requires not so hard skills that can easily be developed just by thinking in music by its harmonical context. In my lessons I'll garantee you learn all this skills and you start making music since the very first day.

I've been playing, studying, teaching and performing for over 15 years now, so I can use my experience to find good qualities in the you and develop them as much as possible. If you want to study with me I can provide a stable program for development including scores, exercises etc. In this class, we will be focusing on instruments sutch as Marimba, Vibraphone, Drum set, Latin percussion, African percussion, Djembe, Orchestral Percussion, Timpani and more. You can come to a lesson and see what you like from all the things mentioned. Do you have instruments at home? I can come to your home and spare you the travels.

Bandoneon Lessons - Learning from the instrument's technique
Bandoneon is a very well know instrument for playing tango, in fact it's part of the genre's DNA. However, not many people know that the instrument was constructed in Germany and some people even say it was supposed to be used as an portable organ. This means that the Bandoneon has a technique that is independent of any genre. This technique is not found by coping other instruments such as the organ or keyboard but through the development of the nature of the instrument. This is mainly the importance of the air and how it is affected by the pulling and the movement we make when we play. Of course Tango will be an important axis of the lessons as it very important for the development of the instrument and for specific techniques but Tango won't be the starting point as it's not the best pedagogical tool for learning the instrument. But no worries, we'll get there ;) Have you ever wondered how a Gregorian chant, Bach, Mozart & Chopin might sound in the bandoneon? The results might surprise as you would get a very different sound from the one you are originally used to. Also, we can try and use the bandoneon for different and new genres, who knows what we might discover from the instrument along the way?

The duration of our lessons can be flexible according to the necessity or possibility of the student. There is also the opportunity to improve and practice your English, Portuguese, Spanish or Czech since these are the languages in which I can teach, according to the students preference.
