Oboe lessons/Reeds lessons/Piano lessons. To all levels and ages
for my Oboe lessons I like to focus on depending on the personal needs of the student are breathing technique, finger skills, posture and creativity. Most importantly though I try to convey my passion for this unique instrument and support my student on his personal journey of learning and growth. In order to create beautiful music, you will not only have to master playing the instrument but also making high quality reeds. Thats why also offer lessons on the craft of reed making, from the basics of making your first reed to perfecting concert grade reeds. My piano lessons cover a wide range of musical styles from Classical music, through Jazz all the way to contemporary pop music, depending on the students interests. Depending on the needs of the student the teaching can include and focus on different technical aspects such as finger flexibility, music theory or improvisation.

Lilian
Hobolessen en hobo Rietmaaklessen in Limburg voor beginners en gevorderden
Hello there! I'm Lilian, and I'm here to share my love for the oboe with learners of all ages. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I've got your back. I believe a good technique is fundamental and can make you enjoy playing music more, and together with that comes development of a person's musicality, I can help you develop both a good technique and a your musicality so that you can achieve a nice musical expression. To stay organized and cover all the essentials, I like to split the lesson in parts, depending on your skill level of course. In a lesson of one hour we can cover theoretical music skills, breath work, reed exercises, etudes and technical exercises and pieces. We can also play duos together! Because I have a lot of experience making reeds, I can make and adjust your reeds to your maximal comfort. Life can get hectic, so I'm all about flexibility. We can find a time during the week that works for both of us, and we'll make sure our lessons fit seamlessly into your schedule. Reach out to me, and we can chat about how long you'd like our sessions to be and tailor a plan that suits you.

Loïc
State graduate oboe teacher. Experienced, passionate and dynamic, I offer private Oboe lessons!
I give with great pleasure and passion oboe lessons for budding musicians of all ages and all levels - from total beginner oboist to very advanced level - through progressive lessons, based on the instrumental technique of the oboe and the development of musical expression on the instrument. I am patient and attentive, and I consider that it is obviously essential to adapt to the objectives and personality of the student. My pedagogy is based on the exchange, the development of the listening of the feelings with the instrument, the methodology in the work which leads to the effectiveness, and naturally the pleasure which the practice of the oboe gets. I seek to transmit to the student the simple and effective technical and musical tools that will allow him to quickly be as autonomous as possible in his personal work outside of oboe lessons. I also play during the lesson, in order to guide the student as well as possible, and sometimes also to have him play in a duet and develop listening and collective practice. Teaching for ten consecutive years in conservatories, I have a very rich and solid experience of pedagogy. I can also give lessons on the making of oboe reeds: assembly, the different styles of scratching, the choice of reeds, tools, etc. This manual aspect, complementary to the practice of the oboe, also fascinates me a lot and I have acquired a great experience in this field during many years of practice. (If you are a total beginner, I can help and guide you to find a good instrument for rent, at a fair and reasonable price, as well as to get the basic equipment, don't hesitate)

Ella
Private oboe lessons for all levels in Amsterdam and the North Holland region
During my oboe lessons, enjoying music is central. The double reed plays an important role in both the sound and the ease of playing the oboe. I make sure there is always a reed that plays nicely. In addition, I will pay a lot of attention to the way of blowing. This is the basis that ensures that the students can have fun and make music right from the start. . Making music together is the best thing there is, so I like to play along with the students in a duet. I guide advanced students in developing their (musical) creativity and, if they wish, I offer reed lessons. In these lessons I give tips for updating reeds and explain all the steps of the reed making process.

Learn to play oboe, improve your oboe playing, learn to make oboe reeds
Playing the oboe is always hard but lot of fun work. The most important thing is to find the right way of practicing to achieve the best results in a limited time. Perfect pitch, technical skills, good quality of the sound and a high level of musical interpretation - these are our goals. During this lessons you can not only improve your oboe playing or start to play oboe as a beginner but also you can learn to make an oboe reeds or improve your reedmaking skills.

Bernice
Learn to Play the Oboe / Improve on your oboe skills
I generally structure my lessons in the format of long tones, scales, sight-reading, etude and pieces. Depending on the student's ability and goals when it comes to playing the oboe, I may vary my lesson structure slightly in order to suit each individual student's needs best. Long tones and scales are the two things I still do every single day to this day, even after many years of playing the oboe professionally. They are the fundamental building blocks of tone, support and breathing and therefore need to be practiced regularly. This is why I always start my lessons with these, regardless of the student's level of playing. Sight-reading is a very useful tool to acquire, especially if you would like to play in ensembles. And as for etudes and pieces, I believe that technique and musicality go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other in order to play music to a high level. Therefore I encourage all my students to practice both.

Andrés Villalobos
Historical oboes, Historical Performance, reed-making
My lessons are designed to provide the student with latest historical performance trends, discussion of the historical treatises that inform our practice as musicians and of course, the oboes themselves. I teach baroque oboes, which includes treble oboe, oboe d'amore and oboe da caccia, which would be able to teach to beginners all the way up to advanced players. I can also give lessons to beginner modern oboe players. Additionally, my classes can also be about music theory, which can provide you with a better understanding of the context of the music you like. I also make my own reeds and can make reeds for you, or even better, teach you how to make them! It is a beautiful thing to do once you get the hang of it. I obtained my bachelors and masters degrees from the Royal College of Music with honours, where I studied with Gail Hennessy. My aim in my life is to share the passion for early music with my students. There is an special joy I have experienced when I perform with early music ensembles; I would be delighted to be able to inspire people so they can also feel how happy we can be from performing music. Please get in touch if you would like more information about me, my training, etc., and I will send my bio and CV your way.
