Chromatic Harmonica Lessons in Maastricht (For All Levels)

Chromatic harmonica is like a small keyboard which enables you to play music in all keys with distinct tone color and vivid dynamics. Ranging from classical, jazz, pop songs to folk music. Harmonica is full of potentials and musical possibilities. No matter you have any instrument background before or not, with passion and motivation by your side, it's never late to start your music journey with harmonica! : )

Regarding the teaching content, I will divide each lesson into two parts: (1) Basic techniques (2) Piece study, I would like to know more about what music you like in advance and we will explore together with the piece (I can rearrange the piece suitable for your level) and learn the skills gradually meanwhile!

About me:
Heddy is a harmonicist and composer from Hong Kong. After graduating from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with her Chemistry bachelor, as a science student, she decided to transfer from science to music. Her composition journey was sprout during her exchange study in Munich, Germany in 2019, where she gained inspirations from instrument endeavors, local musicians, and mountaineering adventures. She is currently doing the Bachelor of Classical Composition in Maastricht Conservatory, guided by the composer Prof. Vykintas Baltakas.

Heddy has been learning the chromatic harmonica for years, taught by the 2013 World Harmonica Champion Mr. Kelvin Shing Hei Leung. As a latecomer in music composition, her motivation is to compose more genres of works to harmonica and share with people through performances. Besides, she is passionate about mountaineering, as she always believes there is an innate connection between nature and music.

Learn Piano and Producing. Improvisation on the piano as a BEATMAKER.
You’re thought about producing your own music, but you have no idea where to begin. Beatmakers and piano players have different goals, so learn to improvise on the piano as a BEATMAKER So why do we have to learn the piano from a classical standpoint when we're wanting to create awesome beats - whether that be beautiful piano beats, or just have a better understanding of chords and improvisation? Cause here's the thing: As a beatmaker, we create repetition. We create loops which are on repeat over and over, and our goal is for these loops to be extremely catchy. (Also keeping in mind for our other instruments in terms of mixing for clarity.) So in this course I cover with you: - The basics of a piano to get everyone on the same page - How keys, scales, and chords work - Figuring out powerful chord progressions - Thinking in terms of melodies and improvisation - How to bounce around with your right hand - Left hand techniques to add fullness to your composition - Playing with both hands - Popular note placement, counting beats, and different rhythms in the industry. - How to stay motivated to practice piano as a beatmaker I have been working in different fields of music almost all my life, My backround started in classic music and today I produce and work with different labels. By the end of the course you will have an in-depth understanding of chords/scales, and be able to improvise on the piano. From here on out, it's up to you to practice with this knowledge to take your productions to the next level!

I am a professional classical pianist, accompanist, singer, and composer with a Bachelor's Degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and a Master's Degree at the Royal Conservatorium in the Hague. For 6 years now, I have been teaching students of all levels between 5 and 60 years old. Lessons are based on your level, interests, and goals. Together we can find out if you are keener on classical repertoire, or if you want to play your favorite pop-music, some beautiful soundtrack from a movie you like or compose/improvise new pieces. With my experience in teaching diverse genres, I will help you explore the music that you like. The central pillars I always work with are technique and creativity, which are much more connected than you would expect! While we advance, I also introduce the basics (or more deeply, if you are interested) of music theory to learn to communicate with each other in musical terms (chords, keys, score reading, etc.). And above all, the goal is to enjoy and have fun!

VOCAL TECHNIQUE FOR ALL TYPES OF MODERN SINGING, POP AND JAZZ SINGING LESSONS, VOCAL COACH, VOICE WORK.
Do you want to know the register of your voice? Can you sing the higher notes without hurting your voice? Learn how to do pass marks? Getting to have a powerful but also agile voice? I am a songwriter, pop and jazz singer, and voice teacher with 20 years of music experience. I offer singing lessons at all levels. My courses are addressed on the development of bodily and vocal awareness which helps to perceive and consider our body as a musical instrument. My teaching method is the result of the synthesis of my experience as a singer and the many and diverse study paths followed. The lesson is structured in two parts: the first half devoted to vocal technique, the second half to musical repertoire. The vocal technique that I propose is a basic technique for all types of modern singing: from postural education to the care of breathing, from the use of the abdominal muscles, to the emission of air to the cavities of resonance. From a repertoire perspective, the course will be modeled after the student's needs or interests, with an eye for the right attitude to hold while you sing and you are on a stage. I prefer pop and jazz, but I can work with any other modern genre. If the student wishes, I can give him notions of harmony and reading music. EDUCATION I studied song with Bruno De Franceschi (conductor and composer of contemporary classical music and musical theater). I studied vocal technique with the lyric singer David Sotgiu (pupil of Luciano Pavarotti), with the lyric singer Maria Grazia Pittavini (teacher at the Perugia Conservatory) and with Cinzia Spata (one of the most important Italian jazz vocal coaches). I studied jazz singing at the Perugia Conservatory with Marta Raviglia (one of the most important Italian jazz singing teachers) and privately with Cinzia Spata. I studied lyrical singing with Maria Grazia Pittavini. I studied pop and jazz piano with Manuel Magrini (one of the most talented young Italian jazz pianists), I studied jazz piano with Alessandro Bravo, jazz piano master at the Perugia Conservatory. I attended masterclasses relating to the world of singing and voice held by: Maria Pia De Vito (singer), Alejandro Saorin Martinez (voice craft method), Albert Hera (singer, vocal coach, circle song), Erika Biavati ( singer), Eleonora Bruni (singer), Catharina Kroeger (lyric singer), Amanda Tiffin (South African jazz singer), JD Walter (American jazz singer), Matteo Belli (actor and one of the most important Italian experts in voice search), Franco Fussi (one of the most important speech therapists in Italy), Roberta Mazzocchi (speech therapist). EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS I have 20 years of experience in music with around 200 concerts between festivals, theaters, clubs and premises, an album of songs, an EP, singles, collaborations with the world of theater, organization of musical events . I lead musical projects in the field of jazz and pop. The passion for singing and song has inevitably brought me closer to the world of education in which I work.
