Reviews (1)

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Maya. The lesson was very relaxed, but at the same time she gave great guidance as to where I could begin to improve my technique.
Composition lessons are for anyone who wishes to compose music, for any instrument, emsemble and/or electronics music. My teaching method combines various approaches and styles, supporting practice with theoretical knowledge, and most important developing creativity and helping the student in making their imagionary visions come real. For each student a different palate of tools is offered, according to the student's musical wishes and ambitions. I teach the basis of western-music composition - theory, harmony, counterpoint, score-reading, solfege, rhythm, analysis and more. Further I suggest broad overview of world, jazz, pop, new/contemporary music, various styles in electronic music (popular and experimental), improvisatory compositions, graphic notation, text and game pieces, music for theater, film and dance and interdicsiplinary works which combine music with other art fields.

Violin lessons - Suzuki method (from 4 years old).
The Suzuki Method was created by the Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki. It is internationally used to teach music to children from age 3. It is based on the idea that if any child can speak his mother tongue perfectly he can also develop his musical talent when he has a supportive environment. Therefore the pupil's parents are actively involved in the learning process attending the lessons and helping their child in daily home practice. Under Suzuki's Philosophy, learning how to play an instrument is much more than acquiring music knowledge. It is about learning values and long life skills that will help children to develop their full potential. Therefore, parents, pupils and teachers enjoy together this fascinating trip from the first stages. The teacher - Eduard. I'm a freelance violinist based in Amsterdam playing in different orchestras and chamber music groups. It is my passion to share with my students and parents the joy of making music and learning and instrument. For me playing an instrument it is much more than just that: it is a way to develop ourselves as a person. It is my intention to create a Violin class with a high standard in a great musical environment. The commitment for daily practice is the only requirement to become my student. I perform often for children like in Teatro Munganga and Amsterdam Baby Concerts. I studied violin in the Conservatories of Barcelona and Utrecht and the Suzuki Method at the Accademia Filarmonica in Utrecht. I am currently following a Postgraduate about the Suzuki Method in the Conservatory of Antwerpen and researching how the principles of thw Alexander Technique can be applied to a violin lesson from the early beggining. I'm also specialized in body and mind work for musicians(as Alexander technique teacher).I'm a member of the Suzuki Vereniging Nederland.

Violin and Viola Lessons - Learn a new instrument or improve your skills
I'm an experienced teacher, with students of different levels/ages. I enjoy the diversity of students and understanding of their different ways of learning and goals and for me, this is the best part of the job - to know an treat each student as a unique person that they are. You'll be encouraged to make music from the very first day. Together with some necessary music theory, always applied to the instrument, you'll learn pieces of gradual difficulty. We make use of progressive tuition methods and you'll learn a solid technique by playing scales, bowing and fingering exercises and easy tunes to begin with. Repertoire includes etudes, playful and challenging concert pieces and from the very beginning duos to play with the teacher.

English, French, Exam Prep & Basisschool German Lessons
I specialize in helping students from elementary school all the way through high school for their final exams. I take a very practical and less theoretical approach to teaching since this is the least tended to aspect of learning a language in school. I have taught for 4 years in an elementary school with ages 7-11 and also done tutoring with students in middle and high school for 5 years. I adapt to the personality of the student and always hope to develop close ties so as to base this teaching on facts but also on trust. French, English and German are my mother tongues and I have basic understanding of Spanish and Dutch as well.

After having lived for 16 years in Asia and taught all these different nationalities, I developed an inspiring and interactive method to teach French language linked with the French culture; food, people, art, fashion. I guess language is the first step but the "Etiquette" is what makes you more "Frenchy" or being able to do business in French and with the French! Introduction to Java programming - a guide to understand the concept of Java as a programming language
This course will help you to get a good understanding of the concept of programming and algorithms through the programming language Java. It requires a very little knowledge of Mathematics and logic from you and promises to strengthen your base about the subject. I have been coding in java for the past 7 years and know it from roots. The method of my teaching i very easy going, however, i aim to instill an interest upon the students towards the study. This is why I keep my content very puzzle like and interactive, where the student challenges himself to learn new things. This course is highly customizable, depending on the progress of the student, I choose the amount of hours I need to invest on classes.
