Trusted teacher: With me, you will have the opportunity to escape to "Celtic" country for a lesson There are several types of Irish flute: (Tin Whistle, Low Whistle, Irish Flute) I will make you discover the beauty of so-called "Celtic" music by explaining everything you need to know. * The basics of this instrument (positions, interviews, breath control, etc.) * The many Celtic Standards. Indeed, there are many more or less difficult songs, but nevertheless very melodious :) If you do not have a traditional Irish flute, during a first lesson, I will be able to guide you on which flute to buy. We will obviously take into consideration your different wishes So if you are ready to deepen your knowledge, I will be happy to teach you what I learned :) NB: If you have a Boehm type transverse flute (transverse flute used in Classical Music), it may take more time to familiarize yourself with Celtic Music. I mean by that that certain positions, certain fingerings will be more difficult to play because of the keys of the flute ... But don't worry, we will find a way to overcome this difficulty. :)

Eleonora - Rome, Italy28€
Trusted teacher: Singing and playing the Transverse Flute share a very important base: they depend and are completely built on our breath. Breathing is a natural, spontaneous activity of our body, and yet it is a complex one to be used in such a specific way, as it is needed for singing and playing. Breathing deeply involves giving ourselves the chance to feel free to explore and get to know our internal spaces; and to sing and to play means giving our body a peculiar sound. Our own sound. I am specialized in ancient, baroque and classical music but I started as a rocker! Singing and transverse flute lessons: technique, repertoire and style (especially classical, ancient and baroque music). I love my lessons not to be standardized, but to be based on each student's attitudes, requests and desires.

Laura - Beckenham, United Kingdom49€
Trusted teacher: I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

Have you always wanted to learn the flute but never knew where to start? Are you a student confused by your school lessons and wanting a little bit of practice outside of class? My name is Sachi, I'm an American-trained flautist, and I'd like to make learning an instrument accessible, fun, and easy for musicians of all ages and abilities. I am a 3rd year student at the University of Bath, but I first picked up music when I was 12. Growing up in America, I had the opportunity to participate in marching band, concert bands, wind ensembles, and orchestras. However, it was only when I began taking private lessons that I realized how incredible and transformative music can be. My lessons instilled a sense of discipline, confidence, and love for the arts that I would now like to share with you. This course begins with the basics, but can be adjusted for whatever level you are at! Items on the course include: - Flute set up: hand position and stability - Beginner's guide to reading music - Sight-reading - Tone and the 'sweet spot' - Breathing - From Classical to Baroque to Modern and everything in between! - Flute music from around the world - Extended techniques (singing and playing, harmonics) - ABRSM prep If you have any questions feel free to get in touch. Please provide your own flute (if you would like advice on purchasing a flute, let me know!). Music stand, flute stand, and beginner practice books would be helpful but can be purchased at a later date or lent from me.

Marcio - San Francisco, CA, United States60€
Trusted teacher: Hello Flutist!! How are you doing during these pandemic times? Hope you are well and safe!! I am Marcio. Welcome to my Apprentus profile! First of all, I am a specialized and fully dedicated Online Teacher. I have been teaching online since the very beginning of the covid pandemic. Since then, I have developed a lot of my way of working. All my lessons are run on Skype which works amazingly well for both video and audio. Also, to enrich the quality of the audio from my students, I very often use a pair of professional headphones which give me amazing high definition sound and articulation of the student. I also work on my iPad with the Apple Pencil and using the share screen resource I can demonstrate and draw on music sheets and methods that I am working with the student at that moment. I simply love it and most of the time it really feels much better than a lesson in person due to all these technological possibilities. My students and I have a lot of fun, you can count on that! I also have a number of Pricing Plans for weekly lessons that will lower the cost of the lesson considerably! My METHODOLOGY I use a methodology that I have developed over the years of practicing and teaching both my students and myself. It’s called: PRIORITY FOCUS. PRIORITY FOCUS basically is a non-multi tasking way of learning a musical instrument allowing time and space for us to learn and fully conquer one ability at a time. We start at the very basic aspects of posture, fingering, and embouchure, and climb our way up to the most detailed techniques and musical expressions. One Flute-playing ability at the time. This methodology is constructed on what I consider to be the two main subjects in Music learning and playing, what I call THE PILLARS OF MUSIC: MUSICALITY AND INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUE Both intermix and coexist in a single dimension, but in terms of studying and progressing, I find that separating them is essential to accelerate and solidify my students’ learning and my own. MUSICALITY encompasses aspects such as musical phrases, vibrato, dynamics, tone colors, improvisations, music theory, harmony, and style: CLASSICAL, JAZZ, FUNK, POP, SAMBA, and BOSSA-NOVA, all of which I have KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE. In INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUE, in our case, FLUTE TECHNIQUE, we have elements such as posture, embouchure, fingerings, breathing, articulation, tonguing, and music reading. To work on these aspects with my students I use several distinctive Flute Methods, from the most TRADITIONAL to the most MODERN ones, as well as INNUMEORUS EXERCICES that I have specifically developed for Flute technical improvements from years of experience as a Flutist, Student, and Teacher. I also use many teachings from distinct areas such as Yoga for FOCUS and RELAXATION, Alexander technique for Posture and BALANCE, and Philosophical spiritual schools for MOTIVATION. Let’s also not forget the intense work that’s is done on the REPERTOIRE OF THE STUDENT’S TASTE. I provide all materials from my vast library completely TO MY STUDENTS. I confess that there is nothing in the world, besides being with my wife and daughter, that I love more than playing and teaching about Music and the Flute. I am an extremely PATIENT, ENTHUSIASTIC, DEDICATED, AND CARING TEACHER. MOTIVATION is the key and I GUARANTEE that you’ll leave motivated after each lesson.

My goal is to provide the student with the basic practical knowledge of the transverse flute, from level 0. Such things as learning to hold the instrument, learning to make sound from it and eventually, of course, playing small exercises and pieces. With this base, the student will feel gradually more at ease with the instrument, and gain his/her independence. The method I use is the same I studied when I started playing, as a young child, in the National Conservatory of Lisbon. Althouth this method serves as a guide, I will adapt my classes to the needs and goals of each student.

Trusted teacher: I am a classical musician with over 15 years of professional experience, both in Portugal and abroad. My main instrument is the Transverse Flute, but I also teach: the Piccolo, the Traverso and the Recorder. I am available to teach students of all ages and levels, either at my Music Studio in Queluz or at the student's. I also have a transverse flute for newbie students to try out. As a teacher, the goal of each lesson is for the student to gradually feel more comfortable with their instrument, continually working on the relationship between the two. To achieve this goal, we will work equally on the Technical and Musical components. Greater technical mastery of the instrument will allow students to express and develop their musicality as freely as possible. Each student will have lessons adapted to his needs and objectives, being that the basic premise of my teaching technique is the pleasure of making music. I did my academic studies in the following establishments: - Geneva University of Music (Master in Musical Interpretation) - Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master in Music) - Lisbon School of Music (License in Music) - School of Music of the National Conservatory in Lisbon
