This applied music theory course is for any passionate musician, regardless of level. It aims to broaden his musical knowledge and abilities by understanding music as a whole. The goal is to be able to decode and understand how a music (not only of classical style, but also pop, jazz, rock, electro, ...) was composed, and to be able to use interesting harmonies oneself. and solid in a personal composition / production. It is made up of two main topics: * Harmony (building chords, understanding chord diagrams, learning to Harmonize a given melody, the possibility or not of using these Harmonies in a given style, etc.). But also understand the key, how to build a scale, how to navigate between different keys, how to transform a classic chord suite into another style? Harmony is a course open to all and all levels, no prerequisites to have. In this branch, we will develop the rules of classical writing (parallel fifths and octaves, false relations etc, ...) within the framework of an exercise based on a given melody or bass (in the first case it will be necessary to invent harmonization and compose a bass, in the second, it will be necessary to invent the harmonization and the melody). This class is aimed at beginners / singers and songwriters who wish to learn the basics of piano so that they can accompany themselves and / or compose songs using the guitar , to help them find chord progressions and also melodies to fit with their song. The level i am teaching currently is for beginners. We will go over the following concepts : Rhythm / Tempo / Basic Key Signatures / Basic Scales / Harmony / Chords and Melody. Additional topics we can cover during the lesson are : Writing chord progressions to fit the melody you have already created. Writing melodies to a pre written chord progression. Writing songs from original lyric ideas. Basic song structures. I have been practicing the violin for over 20 years, I have studied classical music throughout my studies and then studied electronic music and improvisation.
